<ul><li>History can be seen in every corner of St. Gallen. The St. Gallen Convent and its Baroque cathedral are the landmarks of the city. The convent, its library and the monks' archives were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.</li><li><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/100a0r000000gr7hh38C1_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="gs" imageid="249948702" sourcewidth="2048" sourcehight="1360"></li></ul> <ul><li>The monastery library still has the atmosphere of the Benedictine monks studying hard here in the past. The library is also called the "Pharmacy of the Soul" (Seelenapotheke). The monastery area and its majestic Baroque cathedral create a unique historical atmosphere. The monastery library has the most beautiful non-Christian Baroque hall in Switzerland. 50,000 of the 160,000 books in the collection are stored in this Baroque hall. Accompanying these books is a 2,700-year-old Egyptian mummy Shepenese. The essence of the monastery library's collection is 2,100 manuscripts, some of which will meet visitors at each exhibition. In 1983, the entire monastery was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.</li><li><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0ww4d12000a9psjql692D_Z_1000_0.jpg" source="gs" imageid="770927606" sourcewidth="2000" sourcehight="1335"></li></ul> <ul><li>St. Gallen Cathedral, almost every Swiss city has a cathedral, this cathedral is in the city, it is a Renaissance-style Catholic cathedral.
