We loved this activity! Our guide was K and he was informative & had very interesting facts about the castle & the area in general. The 6 of us loved his Knowledge & enthusiasm. The samurai training was lots of fun & K impressed us with his craft… he made it look easy but it was very tricky but so much fun to try & learn the techniques. This is a must do activity!

Matt was friendly, and shared his extensive knowledge about the Samurai and the castle. The Samurai experience was excellent, offering a chance to experience a mindful approach to sword handling and basic postures. It was friendly and fun, but also respectful and authentic.

The overall itinerary was somewhat rushed due to Japanese driver service time regulations. The Takayama leg of the trip was particularly tight, mainly because completing a meal and a full visit to the Takayama Jinya (traditional Japanese houses) within two hours was quite strenuous. Two hours was more than enough for the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village. The tour guide was very professional and nice, and his explanations were quite interesting. The group members came from all over the world, with mainland Chinese tourists making up about 10%, making it a very international team.
