Precautions:You may bring your own swimsuit, shorts and Towel or rent them from reception for $5.00 each. These items are commercially laundered after each use. We also have a range of swimsuits for sale, subject to availability.Our bathing area has a range of changing facilities with showers and shower gel for use during your experience. You will be provided with a portable container for your belongings which can be stored securely in our specially designed cabins.The chemical composition of our mud and water will tarnish most jewelry, especially silver. After bathing, your pores will release minerals over a 24-hour period and we recommend not wearing jewelry during this time.Temperature range 37 – 41°C, depending on the season and time of day. 20 minutes per person per day is recommended for health and safety reasons.The age for mud baths is age 4+, while the age for sulphur baths is 6 months and up. All Child under 15 years must be supervised by a caregiver at all times. We recommend that Child do not bathe for long periods of time and drink water frequently. Hell's Gate is located just outside of central Rotorua. From the city, simply head east on SH30. About 5 minutes past the airport you will turn right towards Whakatane. Hell's Gate is 3km down this road. For your convenience we also offer a shuttle service that can pick you up from various stops in central Rotorua.
