Reviews: Half Day Zambezi Whitewater Rafting
Guest User2025-09-03
Once in a lifetime experience. I HIGHLY recommend this if you visit the area. Not for novice rafters or the faint of heart as the river has class 3,4, and 5 rapids but if you are up for the challenge it is so much FUN! Our raft captain Enoch and his team were experts at navigating the river and always kept our safety in mind. We always felt like they had things under control for our group of 6 family and friends. If you want an adrenaline rush, book this adventure! Make sure to bring good shoes for the hike down to the drop in point and the hike back up (720 steep steps), but again, the guides are there to help you along the way!
Reviews: Full Day: Zambezi Whitewater Rafting 1-25

Rafting down the mighty Zambezi River was one of the most thrilling and life-changing experiences of my life! I joined Maano Adventures during my trip to Livingstone, Zambia, and although it wasn’t on my bucket list, it turned out to be one of my best spontaneous adventures ever! As a first-time rafter with zero technical skills, I was both nervous and excited 😊 especially after hearing and watching on YouTube about the crocodiles, the strong rapids, and all the stories from other rafters. But the Maano Adventures team made me feel completely safe from the very start. They gave us detailed briefings, taught us how to handle the rapids, and ensured we were well-equipped and confident before heading out. We covered 30 kilometers of rafting from rapid #1 to #25; a full-day adventure of around 7 hours through breathtaking Batoka Gorge scenery. The rapids ranged from class 3 to class 5 (some of the toughest in the world!), yet the team’s experience, coordination, and calm guidance made it all possible. I’ll never forget Rapid #8 “Midnight Diner” the moment our raft flipped and threw us all apart! It was terrifying and exhilarating all at once. But thanks to the Excellent safety training, strong team work, and most importantly, the reassuring presence of Mr. “General” in his kayak. I felt protected even while I was underwater. His calm skills and constant watch over us gave me confidence when I needed most. I felt protected even in those intense moments. The guides, especially Abbuu, Enock, and the rest of the crew, kept checking on me and made sure everyone was fine. The Zambezi’s warm waters, massive waves, and the serene pools between rapids make it the best whitewater rafting river in the world. And Maano Adventures truly lives up to its reputation …Very professional, knowledgeable, fun, and safety-focused. By the end of the day, I was exhausted but incredibly fulfilled. From the steep hike down to the river, to paddling through wild rapids, to the climb back up after 25 rapids ……. every moment was unforgettable. If you’re visiting Victoria Falls or Livingstone, don’t miss this! Even if you’re not an adrenaline junkie, the Maano Adventures team will make you fall in love with rafting. I faced my fears, laughed, screamed, and came out feeling stronger. Thank you, Maano Adventures, for giving me a story I’ll never forget and a memory that truly changed me. ❤️

We had a fantastic trip in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. We booked a 3-hour game drive combined with a short rhino walk. Arnold and a driver from Arnolubi Safaris & Tours picked us up from our hotel right on time. Every guide will tell you that you have a 50/50 chance of seeing animals, and this was no different here. But there was a 99% chance that we would see rhinos. We were very lucky that day because we saw a lot of animals—and a great variety of them. The fact that this park has a relatively small surface area is absolutely not a disadvantage. On the contrary, it’s an advantage, as the chances of spotting wildlife are higher. Arnold’s explanations throughout the trip were very knowledgeable. The short rhino walk was truly spectacular. We got out of the vehicle and, together with rangers, went in search of the animals. We saw two rhinos (out of a total of five) in the bushes, but you can also encounter them in open terrain. We were able to get quite close, which made the experience even more impressive. In short, highly recommended if you are staying in Livingstone. Tip: it’s best to book directly through their website—this way you support the local economy.
