From Inverness we head south, along the shoreline of Loch Ness towards Invermoriston. Loch Ness is approximately 24 miles long and over 700 feet deep, and is famous for the sightings of its monster, the "Nessie". We stop in Invermoriston, approximately 30 miles from Inverness, so you may have the opportunity to see this legendary monster in person! After leaving Loch Ness, our tour of Skye continues to Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most popular castles for photography enthusiasts. The castle is located on a small island at the head of Loch Duich. We will stop here to explore the castle and its atmospheric surroundings. We then continue to the Isle of Skye, passing the Skye Bridge and heading to the small village of Portree for Lunch. Although Portree is a small port village, it is the capital of Skye and is surrounded by rocky cliffs and rolling hills. Its beautiful setting makes it an ideal spot for Lunch while you enjoy the view of the boats. Continuing on, we visit several interesting sites on the Isle of Skye, such as Kilt Rock for stunning coastal views, a short walk to Lealt Falls, and a view of the Old Senior of Storr. After spending the afternoon exploring the Isle of Skye and admiring its stunning scenery, we will stop at Strome Viewpoint on the Return back to take photos of Loch Carron before continuing back to Inverness to end your day trip to the Isle of Skye.
