Gaoyiling Tourist Area

Gaoyiling Tourist Area is a natural attraction dominated by Danxia landforms. Unlike many Danxia landscapes that only have mountains and no water, here the red cliffs and red walls are dotted with emerald green pools. The lake water at the foot of the mountain is as clear as jade. From a high place, the dark green pools surround the red ridges and are often vividly described as "Heavenly Pools" embracing "octopuses". The contrast between red and green colors creates a distinctive picture. The attraction trails follow the mountain ridge, with key attractions concentrated at Dragon's Back, Giant Lizard Lake, and the suspended walkway. Dragon's Back is a narrow ridge at the top of the mountain, flanked by sheer cliffs. Walking along it offers panoramic views of the Danxia landforms and is a popular spot for photography. Giant Lizard Lake is named after a Danxia rock formation in the lake that resembles a giant lizard lying down; during the dry season, the rock's outline is fully revealed, its shape vividly depicted. The suspended walkway is built against the cliff face, with a deep canyon below, leading to a narrow passage—a narrow gorge where only two people can pass sideways. The Hundred-Step Heavenly Ladder is a steep stone staircase; reaching the top offers a panoramic view. The tour route is mainly along the mountain ridge trail, with little shade and strong sunlight throughout. Danxia landforms include mountains, water, springs, caves, villages, cliffs, and flat areas. The "flat area" is the local name for the flat land on the top of the Danxia mountain. The beautiful flat area is planted with bamboo forests and serves as a rest stop during the hike.Chenzhou · 25.4km from downtown

The scenery is beautiful, featuring Danxia landforms rarely seen in northern China. However, it gets extremely sunny at midday, so it's best to avoid visiting around noon. Going earlier, before noon, will allow you to see most of the sights. Alternatively, go after 2 PM, as there's less shade in the area.

Yangtian Lake is truly worthwhile! The vast alpine meadows, blue skies and white clouds, and slowly turning windmills create a breathtaking panorama. There are plenty of fun activities; grass skiing down the slopes is incredibly relaxing, and the hillsides are dotted with adorable cartoon installations, making it feel like stepping into a fairytale world. Adults and children alike can have a great time, and every snapshot is a beautiful scene—a truly worthwhile trip.

The salmon in Xiaodongjiang was delicious, and the nearby guesthouses were amazing. The scene of Mai Xiaodeng killing the fisherman in the late-night magazine was very pleasant, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Luckily, the fog was very thick that day, making it incredibly beautiful. Actually, viewing platforms 2 and 3 for casting nets were also quite good. However, you just need to get up early.

A Seven-Character Quatrain on Viewing Five Finger Peak A magnificent sight in Chenzhou, Five Finger Peak soars to the heavens. A towering cliff holds up the azure sky, a thousand layers of verdant ravines rise in layers of peaks. Dense forests hang upside down on the cliff edge, a light mist lingers around the majestic mountain peak. Many visitors rush to climb the stone plank road, but I alone stand quietly at the foot of the cliff.

The scenery here is beautiful and worth visiting. However, the route instructions in the itinerary are not detailed enough, making it inconvenient for independent travelers with cars. I especially suggest adding benches for tourists to rest and wait at the area where you can watch the fishermen cast their nets.

The scenery was beautiful! It was just too hot. Those with a bit more stamina can walk to the canyon and then back; the canyon is about 500 meters long and entirely a boardwalk over the water. We didn't buy tickets for the bamboo rafts, but instead bought tickets for a luxury cruise ship (the ship was very new, had air conditioning, and even offered a second-floor sightseeing experience). It also departed from Damianzhou Wharf, round trip to Wayaoping, for 100 yuan per person – incredibly good value!

The attraction is a bit small, but very unique. The bamboo rafts weave through the Danxia mountains, giving you a feeling of effortlessly navigating through countless peaks! On October 5th, we arrived at 8:30 am and didn't have to queue.

It's perfect for hiking and mountain climbing. The air quality in the mountains is excellent, and you can see many small animals, including Monkey King Village, where there are lots of little monkeys. Just be careful with your food, as the monkeys will try to snatch it. You can also see the Mangshan's unique pit viper, a type of venomous snake with beautiful patterns.

This hot spring has many baths, and each bath has a place to hang towels, hot water supply, and the temperature is displayed in the bathroom. It can be said that it is a very well-run and thoughtfully designed hot spring resort.
