The Fisherman's Bastion is located on the Castle Hill on the Buda side. It is a fortress named in memory of the fishermen who defended the Danube in the past. It is known as the three most shocking buildings in Hungary together with the Hungarian Parliament Building and the National Opera House. It also overlooks the Danube and overlooks the Lookout point for views of the Perth district. Historical background The Fisherman's Bastion stands on the Danube River, adjacent to the Matthias Church. It was built in 1895 and took six years to complete. This double-storey gray-white building is centered on the white minaret of the neo-Roman style. Together with several surrounding round towers, it represents the ancestral tribes of Hungary. The towers are connected by cloisters, like a labyrinth, which looks like a Disney Logo from a distance. in the castle. Several bronze statues on the Fisherman's Bastion are also quite eye-catching. One of the more famous is a horse-riding bronze statue of a Hungarian king. It was built in 1906 and is located between Matthias Church and Fisherman's Castle. The relief on the pedestal shows The king's life story. The guided tour of the Fisherman's Bastion has many steps and walking paths, and you can enjoy the scenery along the way as you climb the steps. Fisherman's Bastion has many high tower viewing platforms. It doesn't matter if it encounters windy, rainy weather, etc. The arched cloister of the viewing platform is a good shelter from the rain and summer. Take a break on the bench. Overlooking the scenery Standing on the Fisherman's Bastion, you can see the magnificent views that you can't even see from the top of the castle: the Danube, Margaret Island, the Chain Bridge, the Hungarian Parliament Building and the Freedom Hill are all in sight. The Fisherman's Bastion at night is also full of unique charm, and everything around is particularly charming under the illumination of special lights. The performance of street performers on the platform adds to the mood. It is also very romantic to come here to watch the night view. You can see many couples dating here. It is said that most of the first kisses of local young people happened here. The restaurant with the same name of the Fisherman's Bastion has seats in the north and south corridors of the Fisherman's Bastion. The dining environment is very good. The restaurant has a terrace on the high tower. Drinking coffee there and looking at the beautiful surrounding scenery is a pleasure. enjoy.Hungary · Budapest

City Park is adjacent to Heroes' Square and is an important public green space in the center of Budapest, as well as one of the earliest established city parks, with a history dating back to the early 19th century. During the Middle Ages, this area was the hunting ground of King Matthias and was later used as a meeting place for the parliament. The park centers around an artificial lake, which offers boating in the summer and transforms into an open-air ice rink in the winter, with different scenery throughout the seasons. Standing on the island in the lake is Vajdahunyad Castle, built for the 1896 Hungarian Millennium Celebration, which blends various architectural styles including Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque. The park also brings together facilities such as the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, and theCapital Circus of Budapest, covering a variety of activities including thermal bath experiences, family-friendly tours, and cultural performances.Hungary · Budapest

Buda Castle

Buda Castle stands majestically atop Castle Hill as one of the landmarks of Budapest. It once served as the residence of the Hungarian royal family. Today, the central part of the palace has been converted into the Budapest History Museum, the National Library, and the National Gallery. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. History The castle was first built in the 13th century under the direction of King Béla IV after the Mongol invasion. It subsequently endured destruction during the Ottoman occupation, multiple wars, and post-renovation devastation in World War II, making its history truly tumultuous. The palace we see today is its restored form after the war. Architectural styleThe architectural style combines Baroque and Gothic elements in a hybrid palace, grand in scale, with its main facade supported by Greek Corinthian columns. The exterior walls feature alternating red and white hues, while the Baroque-style green dome atop the facade is particularly striking. Visitor guide Passing through the lion gate into the courtyard, you can see the Matthias fountain, which depicts a hunting scene of King Matthias leading his entourage, with vivid postures of both the figures and the hounds. On the terrace overlooking the Danube stands the bronze statue of the mythical Turul bird, said to have guided the ancestors of the Magyars to this land, its talons clutching the "Sword of Attila." On one side of the terrace stands the equestrian statue of Prince Eugene, facing the Danube. At the entrance of the Budapest history museum, the bronze statues "War and peace" flanking the doorway symbolize war and peace through angelic figures, also worthy of close observation. The interior is also worth spending time on: the Hungarian National Gallery is renowned for its Gothic altarpieces, wood carvings, and other medieval artworks; the Budapest History Museum tells the story of the city and preserves restored medieval palace halls and chapels; the Széchényi National Library houses rare ancient books, including the former royal collection of King Matthias. After the visit, take a stroll on the Danube-facing viewing terrace, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Chain Bridge, the Parliament Building, and the scenery along both banks of the Danube—especially enchanting at dusk when the lights come on. To ascend the hill, you can either walk up through the old town of Castle Hill or take the cable car from the end of the Chain Bridge for a leisurely ride up.Hungary · Budapest

Heroes' Squarewas built to commemorate the millennium of Hungary's founding. Construction began in the late 19th century, and through continuous improvements, it has evolved into the solemn and magnificent complex of buildings and sculptures seen today. As an important historical and cultural space in Budapest, this square is not only a must-visit for tourists but also a traditional venue for major celebrations and commemorative events in Hungary. The Millennium Monument in the center of the square is the core of the entire complex. At the top of the towering stone column stands a bronze statue of Archangel Gabriel, holding the Holy Crown, which symbolizes Hungary's national power, in one hand and a double cross in the other, creating a solemn and majestic presence. In front of the monument lies the Memorial Stone of Heroes, dedicated to honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the country and the nation. The Museum of Fine Arts and the Palace of Art are symmetrically located on either side of the square. These two neoclassical buildings, with their grand porticos and stone columns, echo the central monument, together creating a solemn and expansive urban landscape.Hungary · Budapest

Széchenyi Chain Bridge

The Chain Bridge, also known as the Szechenyi Bridge or the Szechenyi Chain Bridge, was originally named after its patron, and was later commonly known as the Chain Bridge because of the construction method of iron chain traction. This is a bridge across the Danube, connecting Buda and Pest, and a symbol and landmark of the merged city. The construction of the Chain Bridge began in 1839 and was completed in 1849, with a total length of 380 meters. When it was built, it was the bridge with the largest span in the world at that time. The bridge body was made of chains as the skeleton. There were pedestrian walkways on both sides of the bridge deck, and vehicles could pass in the middle. The bridgeheads standing on both sides of the strait are two tall and majestic stone triumphal arches. Huge steel cables are drawn out from the bridgehead, and the stretched bridge deck is suspended, outlining a strong curve. There are two stone lions guarding the bridge near the Pace area. The lion is resolute and majestic. It guards the Chain Bridge day and night like a patron saint. Walking on the Bridge Walking on the Chain Bridge, you can enjoy the charming scenery on both sides of Buda and Pest, the tranquil Danube, the magnificent Hungarian Parliament Building, and the dreamy Fisherman's Bastion. When you are in it, it is like stepping into a frozen historical picture. Whether it is spring, summer, autumn or winter, the scenery here is unique. The Buda end of the Chain Bridge has a vertical cable car from which you can ascend the Castle Hill. On the Pest side of the Chain Bridge is Széchenyi Istvan Square, where you can admire the palace-like buildings of the Hungarian Academy of Social Sciences and the Four Seasons Hotel. The Chain Bridge, a romantic place, is full of romance and literature when the lights are on. Under the light and shadow, the Chain Bridge is more mottled and has a hazy beauty. You can see many couples dating here. No wonder it has always been known as Budapest. One of the more romantic places, the famous "Love in Budapest" has also been filmed here many times. The Buda Palace on the Buda side is a great place to look over the Chain Bridge, from where you can enjoy a stunning view of the Reichstag, the Chain Bridge and the Danube. Every year on the Hungarian National Day, the Chain Bridge is only for pedestrians, and fireworks will bloom on the Danube River.Hungary · Budapest

Liberty Bridge (Budapest)is a well-known bridge in downtown Budapest spanning the Danube River, connecting the Buda bank on the west and the Pest bank on the east. Although the bridge uses a steel truss structure, its design avoids the heavy feel typical of industrial architecture, instead cleverly incorporating the elegant styling of traditional bridges. The overall outline of the bridge draws on the design features of chain bridges, with clean and smooth steel frame lines, while incorporating Art Nouveau decorative elements, giving the sturdy steel structure a delicate and elegant visual effect. The eye-catching decoration on top of the bridge towers is a bronze statue of the Turul, poised for flight. After nightfall, the bridge becomes even more charming under the lights, with the silhouette of the bridge echoing its reflection in the Danube River, creating a romantic and tranquil atmosphere.Hungary · Budapest

I have to say that the Chain Bridge looks good from any angle. If you want to take pictures from the angles of Figures 1-3, stand on the platform on the way to Buda Castle. Figures 4-5 are at the bridge head, which is right next to the No. 105 bus stop. The Leo restaurant and bar on the top floor of the Clark Hotel has an excellent viewing position. You can see the Parliament Building from the left side, and the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle from the right side. Figure 6 is on the protruding platform on the left side facing the Buda Castle.

Apart from anything else, the color of this bridge alone is the winner! The night view is just so-so. It is more beautiful during the day. Even with the light, the color is not very beautiful. It is enough to look at the Capitol at night. The Liberty Bridge is also very photogenic, but you have to walk to the middle of the red light to take better photos.
