The facilities are old, and the hotel is also old. There is basically no service in the United States. It is okay to stay for one night if you drive by yourself. It is not suitable for family travel. The pictures have nothing to do with the hotel

Great stay overall. Booked for a staycation anniversary. The rooftop bar was closed for the rest of the season which was disappointing considering that was the main reason why we chose this hotel. Strangely the shower pressure was downright painful. However, service and staff were great and friendly!

AAnonymousDogThis is a very nice facility with indoor pool, but staff attitudes were extremely poor. I witnessed several rude interactions with other guests and heard reports of several more. We booked the best room in the place for a week (King Suite with veranda over the pool and jetted tub), but our keys timed out every day until I complained...no excuse for that. Both day and night shift employees shared the same poor attitude, but it was the gal on nights who was just plain rude and off putting, being on the phone with friends more than anything else. The person who appeared to be the day manager was a bit better. All the staff allowed some pretty shady characters they seemed to know to hang out in the back parking lot in their cars for hours on end. These were not guests but probably the local drug dealer posting up in his usual location. That happened every day, well into the evening hours. The motel is located away from the historic downtown, across the river near restaurants, Wal-Mart, etc. It's a great location as it's very easy to drive or ride out of town without fighting traffic. Breakfast does not even qualify as ”continental” with only packaged cereal, packaged danishes, coffee and juice. Without adding to employee work load, the motel could easily add fresh fruit, and many comparable motels offer a LOT more than that. We ate breakfast there ONE morning just to get on the road as quickly as possible; other than that, the offerings weren't even worth the effort of walking into the dining space. Our bed was our biggest problem: In the best room in the place, we got a King mattress that I can only describe as ”sacked out” and very hard. By the time our staff was complete, I had lower back and hip pain. I don't have those problems; it was the bed. That bed is one of the key reasons someone would rent that room at a premium price. The other significant reason to rent the (King suite with veranda and jetted tub) room is, obviously, the jetted tub. Using it was so laborious that we stopped trying after the second use. The faucet's flow was SO slow that it takes AT LEAST half an hour to fill to where the jets are covered when you get in the tub (which is required to turn on the jets, obviously). To get anything like reasonable fill times, I was using the ice bucket to transfer buckets of water from the sink nearby. It still took at least 20 minutes to fill the tub. That's just ridiculous. There was plenty of water pressure and volume in the sink, toilet, and shower; so, it's a problem with the tub fixtures or plumbing, not water supply to the room. I was also unpleasantly surprised that the most expensive room in the motel had a mini-fridge without any freezer at all. That's not premium. During our stay, a storm passed through the area and knocked out all but one leg of 110V power to the motel. This left many rooms without power and knocked out WiFi service and the satellite TV service for more than a day, well after power was restored. Even though power was still in the building, staff did nothing at all to temporarily connect either WiFi or satellite systems to the working power (with an extension cord to the equipment or similar). Lots of tenants left the motel, especially family guests. Staff allowed tenants with power to continue to use AC units in their rooms even though they were surely damaged by running on a single leg of power (on a 220V unit)...that's just irresponsible (although I understand it from a customer service point of view). The pool looks nice, but we didn't use it. It was closed at odd times even though it was supposed to be open 10am to 10pm. On our arrival day, for instance, it was already closed at dinner time (and remained so the whole evening). The hot tub space in the pool area has been bricked up; it doesn't exist now. Housekeeping was very good and extremely responsive to requests. I'd give the motel a 3 of 5 stars at best which is a shame since it's a nice facility with great location.

AAdam KimeWhile the building was attractive, the rooms, the amenities, and the service were no better than what you'd get at a Day's Inn. There were also some odd things about the service and the facilities. First, the hotel boasted both an outdoor and an indoor pool (and a hot tub). The outdoor pool was closed and the hot tub was drained. On top of that, the hotel required that you wear paper wristbands to use the pool (or you will be evicted without refund), but you need an active room key to get into the pool in the first place. At one point, the desk manager came and asked families in the pool to get out and get the wristbands, which was really awkward. The pool set up is neat and unusual. The outdoor pool communicates with the indoor pool, and you can have a pool-side room with sliding doors that open to the outdoor pool area. It would be a neat feature-- as long as the outdoor pool is open, which it wasn't. There were also odd breakdowns-- like the ice machine not working and housecleaning trying to clean out our room before checkout time. All in all, I would have rather gone to a cheaper hotel. The experience was not worth the extra cost.

GGuest UserOur stay at The Lodge was nice. There were a few little things that I questioned, but that honestly is normal & did not really effect our stay. Everything in the lodge was clean & I do not know what wonderful smell they are pumping through the building... but walking into the lobby was wonderful! The decor was nicely decked out in holiday cheer! The Christmas Trees were beautiful too. We booked a King Suite, as the pic on Trip.com showed a jacuzzi tub in the suite. This is not the case. In fact, The staff at the front desk said they have not had jacuzzi tubs in the rooms for over 8 years. That was a disappointment... And King suites do not have a balcony, but Queen suites do have a balcony with sliding doors! They front desk did not offer to help with that misunderstanding, as offering a ”Fireplace room” (they said the jacuzzi rooms now had fireplaces after the removal of said tubs??... but no fireplace in my suite) or offering anything else... probably because I booked thru a third party(trip.com). It was definitely a spacious room, but a little overly ”roomy” with just a king bed, 2 nightstands, the entertainment/dresser, completely with a fridge in the cabinet, a very small ”dining table”, a glass coffee table & a pull out couch. The thermostat was set at a scorching 75 degrees, which I immediately turned down. At first, I figured it was just a fluke, but the power did go out one evening & sure enough, when the power was restored the thermostat reset to 75 again! We dined at the bar on a few occasions, which was nice & staffed ok, not the latest hours for a bar. The food is good & of course a little pricey. I'm sure there is a lot more to do during the nicer seasons... the answer for everything it seemed was ”it is the off season”. Overall, it was a nice place to stay in wine country & probably will return next year.

GGuest UserThe hotel was nice for a short stay with my family. Pros: there was one lady in particular that worked at the front desk on Friday evening and Saturday that was very friendly from the moment we checked in. Honestly her positive attitude contributed to our lack of complaints during our stay. The free daily breakfast was decent. There’s a nice variety and you can’t beat free (well it might’ve been included in the cost because I’m not sure what we really paid for) and one less meal to plan for my family. The hotel itself has nice character and is beautiful to the eye initially. The room that we were in was very spacious which was a plus! We didn’t have a chance to use the pool but from what I could see it looked nice. Cons - I believe this is becoming an issue with most hotels possibly due to staffing shortages but the cleanliness of the hotel and the room especially, lacked. Having an infant with us brought this to light. He kept bringing us things that we know for sure we didn’t bring into the room, like butter packets, toothpick/floss sticks and an abundance of hair that didn’t belong to us. And the carpet could certainly use a deep clean. The bathroom toiletries were very basic. The fridge left our food warm, I did notify the person at the front desk when we checked out but she didn’t seem to concerned. We couldn’t get lake check out (but I know that’s never guaranteed, it’s just the first time it’s happened to us lol) Overall it was a decent stay. I think we paid more for Location and hotel brand but we survived.

The hotel is a building with a bit of history, the corridors and rooms are quite large. There is a complimentary breakfast and dinner, and there are a few glasses of alcoholic drinks in each room, free popcorn. There is a parking fee of 28 US dollars per day at the entrance of the hotel. There are many other parking garages around the hotel, usually about 10 US dollars a day. Overall very good

Ssomnium_viatoremGreat value for the price. Got a queen suite with a small kitchenette. Bathroom sink barely worked, only a slight trickle of water came out, but at least there was a fully functioning kitchen sink. Toilet flush handle was broken when we first arrived but they did fix it promptly once we brought it to their attention. Bed mattress was fairly comfy. Front desk staff was attentive for the most part. Kitchen wares such as pots and pans, plates, silverware, cutting boards, etc. were available for loan which was a nice amenity. However, I had some trouble getting one of the burners on the stove to work. Rooms were fairly clean but could use an update. Elevators were dirty though, trash and dust all over the floors of them. Laundry facilities were decent and had many washers and dryers available in good condition. Exercise room was small but decent. No weights though, just an elliptical, treadmill, and spin bike. It was open 24/7 though which was cool. Also, they advertise breakfast, but all they have is shitty coffee in the early mornings that quickly runs out.

GGuest UserWe had a delightful stay with you! The Christmas decorations were stunning! We loved the tall Christmas tree laden with crystal, red and silver ornaments that greeted us in the beautiful lobby. And the charming farm-themed photo nook was gorgeous and heartwarming! We also loved the simple but powerful statement of the nativity scene on the grand piano. The soft carols playing in the background were lovely. The hospitality was wonderful as well!  Everyone was so friendly and helpful-especially the two sisters:)!  The breakfast and evening snacks were delicious -especially the Amish cookies with maple frosting! The rooms were comfortable and clean, although I missed some of the old-fashioned charm with the updates. We would stay there again in a minute. It was nothing short of magical.
