This is my third stay in this hotel and it seems I've been coming back to this same hotel every time I'm in KK.. My first time was more than 20 years back. It seems this hotel has been very good with its upkeep and has been refurbished and renovated. The look and feel is as though it is a new hotel. It seems the upkeep and the room has been refurbished with a new look. And the toilet is really nice. Congratulations.keep up the good work and I like the reception services. Will definitely come back again.

The Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort is an outstanding resort with exceptional service that leaves a lasting impression. Firstly, the service quality at the hotel is very high, with staff being friendly and helpful. Whether it's the reception or room service, they respond quickly to guests' needs and always with a smile. Secondly, the quality of the in-room dining is excellent. Whether it's breakfast or dinner, the food delivered to the room is not only fresh and delicious but also beautifully presented, making you feel genuinely welcome. It's particularly worth mentioning that I once accidentally left some items in the room. The hotel staff promptly contacted me and arranged to return the items quickly, which was very reassuring. However, there are a few areas where the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort could improve. Firstly, the hotel's location is relatively remote, making it inconvenient to hail a taxi, especially at night or during peak hours, which can be troublesome for guests who need to go out frequently. Additionally, there are some issues with the hotel's pool facilities. The edges of the pool may be rough, and I accidentally got a cut while using the pool. I hope the hotel can address this to enhance the safety and comfort of their guests. Overall, the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort remains a highly recommended accommodation choice, particularly for travelers seeking excellent service and delicious meals. If they can resolve the transportation and pool facility issues, this would be an ideal place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Great and cozy hotel, though it’s small but just perfect for a short stay. Walking distance to many local delicacies too such as famous Borenos fried chicken, welcome seafood and etc.

Stay in Deluxe room, spacious, ample solid wood furnishing, bed, sliding wooden door curtain gave a antique warm feel, bathtub was a treat, many newer hotel wouldn't have bathtub for RM150 per night, marble bathroom floor and sinktop, looks wee b it aged but functions well. Personally for environmental friendliness, it is better to maintain quality aged furnishing in hotel rather than continuously dismantling older furnishing to change to new ones which likely to be of less quality, like no longer solid wood or marble. Lobby and breakfast area also have marble floor, lavish chandelier, wood frame walls. Breakfast though limited choice was quite tasty. Just one suggestion: please provide milk for coffee rather than just using creamer pack.

Room very spacious. Bed is very comfy. The only downside is, it's very difficult to find parking around the vicinity. Overall, it's a great stay. Will come back again to stay here in future as the location is very convenient. Restaurants and coffee shops are just within short walking distance.

We stayed there for my youngest sister's convocation day. The distance from the airport is bearable and near to every attraction of Kota Kinabalu. It was a great experience staying there as the room is spacious and clean. There was an outdoor swimming pool at level 3. The lobby is spacious and is comfortable for the Grab car pick-up and drop-off service. The staff were so friendly and their customers' service were very good. I will definitely come here again.

As soon as I arrived, one of the hotel owners personally came and greeted me and spend his time to give me a tour and explain the concept of the hotel and its design. The design of the hotel is influenced by different Sabahian landscapes and local craftsmanship depicted through contemporary means. Materials and craft is all sourced locally. I had the chance to meet both the owners and their hospitality was unprecedented. They took their time to get to know me and introduce Sabah and its culture. Something that you will not experience at big chain hotels. The LUMA is a brand new hotel group. There will always be room for improvement in their services. The willingness to improve is there and they listen if you have any complaints or needs.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 days and 5 nights for both business and leisure purposes. The hotel's location is one of the best in Kota Kinabalu. On the first day, I was issued a room that did not match my reservation. However, the front office staff were friendly and very professional, and they assisted me in changing to another room. Unfortunately, the next day, I had to change rooms again due to a leaking air conditioner. It was honestly a very bad experience to have to change rooms twice within the first two days. Despite this, the Duty Manager, Mr. Bryan, was very kind and professional in helping me resolve the issue. I appreciate the Marriott's high standard of service. Overall, the stay was good, and the sunsets were breathtaking.

An excellent stay in Kota Kinabalu. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, largely in part because of the hotel. From the easy and friendly welcome at the reception, club lounge and restaurant to help from the travel desk, we received good service all around. The club lounge food while not varied, was good. I also loved the views from the rooftop bar. The pool looked to be a little dated but was still acceptable. The gym was well equipped! Unfortunately, I did not make a booking in time to try their massage services. Finally, the room was lovely. Comfy bed and pillows. The hotel is only 15 stories and we were on the 8th floor, while it's not very high the sea view was still gorgeous. Additional kudos, I appreciated that the laundry team could accommodate for washing of shoes as I had just completed the Mount Kinabalu hike. We made a spontaneous booking to Mari Mari Cultural Village and the travel desk service was really helpful in arranging our booking for the next day. All in all, a fantastic stay and I look forward to staying here again.

stay for a night here (twin room- seaview). the room was great. except for the iron & the board, u hve to ask them to deliver it to ur room (they delivered it within 5mins ;)). the breakfast was great too eventho its not very variety however the taste is good. the staff also nice. oh! they have rooftop restaurant & bar as well! the ambience were nice, the staff also very friendly! however their foods wasnt tht flavorful. i ordered nasi rendang daging, aglio olio, crispy cc, grilled cc and it tastes so bland & least favorite was cheesy nachos hmmmmm:/ however it can be improved ;) i hv a great stay anyway. would ill be stayin here again? yes. would i like to go for their foood (rooftop restaurant) nope :/ but for chill absolutely yes.

The location for this hotel is superb because it’s located in the middle of Tawau town. The room what I can said very clean but the amenities all looks old. The pillows very thin and I requested extra pillow and has to paid rm5 for one pillow.

This hotel provides conveniences to move around town as it is located in the heart of town. Not to mention the hotel itself is very comfortable, the staff is friendly, the facility is very clean and well kept. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

One of the best place to consider if you visiting Tawau. Approx rates start RM 100 per room per night. Walking distance to Tawau market, shops, eateries etc. Down of this hotel building is a 24-hour KFC.

Staying in Sempoorna town was a delightful experience, and this resort made our visit truly special. Sempoorna town is relatively small and apart from diving, hiking, island hopping there is not much things to do. If you're planning to spend more than 2-3 days in the area, I highly recommend considering this resort. Conveniently located just 10 minutes away from Sempoorna town by boat, the resort offers a tranquil escape. The staff and owner here are not only friendly but also incredibly cooperative, ensuring a warm welcome and a comfortable stay throughout. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully equipped, providing a luxurious experience. The surrounding beautiful sea is a highlight, adorned by starfish and other fishes. While the included food may not be the centerpiece of the experience, it is satisfactory, mainly featuring delicious Chinese cuisine. The staff and owner go the extra mile to share details about the resort, snorkeling gear, and any assistance you may need. During our stay, they arranged an unforgettable island-hopping tour, adding an extra layer of excitement to our visit.

I was here for a busniess trip and I did not spend so much time in the room. But room is clean and reception is very friendly.Overall,it is good staying here.

I visited Tawau with some trepidation. It's not a major tourist drawcard and there isn't a lot of Western-style hotels available. So I went with a hunch and chose Vista. I can say it turned out to be a real find. The Tatami King room was comfortable and spotless. The WiFi was fast and the coffee machine was perfect to get the heart started in the morning. The room is pokey but large enough to not fill cramped. The hotel is located in a shoplot district, so there was plenty of food and entertainment options. Everything was at my fingertips. And all for less than $70 per night. The staff are also very helpful and sweet. If you ever visit this hidden gem of a city, look no further than the Vista.

stayed here for second time, almost as good as my first. down side was this round's room toilet water discharge a bit slow. while showering the shower area flooded and takes few minutes to fully discharge.
