Shonai Hotel Suiden Terrasse

Suiden Terrace seems to float in a sea of green rice. Walking along the long strokes of the entrance, you follow the lush green rice. After climbing the atrium staircase, you will reach the lobby on the second floor. The sunlight pours in through the large windows, and the spacious space has an open feel, reminiscent of an art museum. We stayed at the hotel with a plan that included dinner and breakfast. All of the dishes made with ingredients from Shonai were delicious, and for dinner we enjoyed an appetizer of short pasta with conch and tomatoes, pan-fried tilefish, and roasted Shonai duck paired with sake and wine from Yamagata Prefecture. For breakfast, we ate our fill of local cuisine made with ingredients from Shonai, gazing at the rice fields swaying like waves in the breeze and Mt. Gassan towering beyond. The large public bath, which is equipped with an open-air bath and sauna, is also surrounded by rice fields, so you can relax and unwind while feeling the pleasant breeze. You can drink in the lounge, but we had local beers, a session IPA and a pale ale, in our room.

The hotel staff uses a translator to communicate, so verbal communication is no problem, and the arrangements are also very detailed. Meal times and free private bath reservation times are clearly listed on the paper. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Zao Ropeway Station, and we went there first. We went to the hotel after visiting Bingshu Plateau. Due to the heavy snow and heavy luggage, the coffee shop staff called the hotel car to pick us up, which was very nice. It is a nationally certified natural hot spring. It has a large bathhouse and a private hot spring (guests can use it once for free). It is a great experience. It is beautiful to soak in the open-air hot spring and watch the falling snow. But the hot spring floor is slippery and my sister slipped and hit her, so be careful when walking.

A wonderful place to stay in. The service was fantastic. The room was huge, much too large for just a solo traveler like me but it would have been perfect if I had brought my wife and child along. The onsen quality was great, albeit the fittings at the shower area were a bit old. The food was hands down amazing and featured great local produce. Honestly there was too much for one person to finish! What I especially liked was that they had a separate room on the first floor where if it was too early for you to check in, you could drop your luggage off, change, and then grab your gear and head to the slopes. Same thing if you intend to charge the slopes a bit more on your last day, just leave your stuff in the storage room, hit the slopes, come back and change out, hit the onsen for the last time, then go off. Definitely recommending this place to my friends visiting Zao.

The room is large, the breakfast is good, the hot spring is clean, and the welcome area is intimate. The ski drying room is on the left side of the gate. The ski information in the hotel is not full... It may still be mainly for bathing guests.

It is a hotel with quite a history, although there are ten steps before entering the hotel door, however if you take the shuttle then there should be staff to help you carry (I did not sit), checkout employees to help carry luggage, there Cars you go to the station, but actually walking past the station is not very far, to see the tree ice is not afraid of far, anyway, I walked slowly did not pay attention to the time, watching the snow soon. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic and the service was good and the food was quite good. However the room will be a bit cold recommend going in winter to prepare some warm packs.

Excellent stay in a nice clean single room on the 7th floor which also has an ice machine and vending machine and microwave on the same level. Other levels have coin operated laundry machines too. Very conveniently connected to the Yamagata Shinkansen station!!

There was a little bit of a problem with the pick-up at Zao Onsen Station at the beginning. The operator's English was not very good, but we were finally picked up! Then the hotel is relatively old, but very clean! On the last day when we were about to leave, we asked if we needed to pick up guests at the station, and then they just helped us to pick up at the station, so the round-trip pick-up service was very good!

Hotel service is really good! ! ! ! Suddenly it snowed that day and JR was out of service. I was3-4 hours later than expected, and I arrived at the JR station at 12 o'clock in the evening. As a result, the hotel reserved dinner for 6 of us, and waited for me at the JR station to send me by shuttle bus! ! ! ! When I arrived at the hotel for dinner, the rice was cooked per person, the rice and roast meat were hot, and the dessert was still in the refrigerator. It really surprised me! I highly recommend this hotel! The service at the hotel is really great!!!! That day, JR was suspended due to a sudden snowstorm, and it was near 12 o'clock that I arrived at JR station 3 ~ 4 hours later than scheduled. As a result, the hotel booked dinner for 6 of us and waited at the JR station before taking us to the shuttle bus! It's hot and the dessert is still in the refrigerator. It was a really nice surprise! Highly recommend this hotel! The hotel service is really excellent!!!! There was a sudden snowstorm that day and JR was suspended. Tendo Hotel

The Tendo Hotel is very good. When traveling in Yamagata Prefecture, although Yamagata Prefecture's Ginzan Hot Spring is more famous, it is difficult to book. One day I chose Tendo for the hot spring bath. The services and facilities of Tendo Hotel are very good, and the Yamagata beef sukiyaki for dinner is also delicious. The hotel is conveniently located. If you go to Yamagata Prefecture, in addition to the famous Ginzan Hot Spring and Zao, it is also recommended to go to Tendo to relax.

The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to find food nearby. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with many free amenities, including KOSÉ facial products. The breakfast was also delicious. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We were a group of 14 people, and they had arranged our rooms ahead of time, so the check-in process was fast and efficient. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!
