The Grand Burstin Hotel

Fella 4 doors down said he saw what looked like a lady in Victorian dress pass him on the stairs, he said he was also awoken at 3am by the same apparition standing at the foot of his bed pointing at him. But to be fair he did stink of booze. Not exactly the Chelmsford Hilton but not a bad gaff for the price. Great location, had a feel of a classic hotel about it, bit like the one out of the Shining but with more Jack Duckworth than Jack Nicholson. Drinks in the bar weren't bad but did have to question the scotch as it had an after-taste that bought back memories of intamacy with an ex-Girlfriend who only showered once a week. Situation was sorted imedietely and went onto G&T's with a few Dolly birds up from Hastings so wasnt a problem. A group of locals outside tried to intimidate when one ventured out but after squaring up to the ring leader, fists raised and eyeballs looking like that italian bald ref from back in the day the fella and his cronies sooned backed down. Not sure its a place for youngsters or families but for a 62yr old fella like myself looking for a night away from the Missus its the perfect gaff. Highly recommended.

Went here for our 10th anniversary as we got married here and it use to be our local. We had afternoon tea, which was lovely and just the right amount. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. We also stayed here, the room was a lovely size, had everything we needed, and we were able to check in slightly early. The furniture in the room is a little dated, but did its job. We had breakfast here which was lovely, with lots of choice. We used the swimming pool, which was clean and so were the changing rooms. We also got to see the start of a Christmas tree going up. A fantastic stay, would highly recommend and will be visiting again.
Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch Hotel & Spa

Unfortunately not the best hotel we've stayed at. Booked for a spa break, but unfortunately parts of the hotel let down our relaxation. We stayed for 2 nights; dinner and breakfast was included in our deal, and as the hotel was advertised as a spa we thought we would spend the two days in the hotel. We ended up not bothering with breakfast one day, and spent our second day out of the hotel. Stains on the bedroom floor, bedside tables with lots of dust, chipping paint and dust at the windowsill, wardrobe door wouldn't shut, told air con and robe/slippers included but neither a part of our stay. Dinner both evenings was nice and a good choice of drinks in the bar with background music. Staff are friendly. We didn't bring up any of our issues to staff because nothing was actually wrong with our stay or we found to be a problem, just not at the standard we anticipated given some of the reviews and website photos. If you're staying for one night for an event or for work, it's absolutely fine. We thought it would be a spa-focused hotel so were a bit disappointed that it's a hotel with a steam room and a pool. We didn't have a bad stay at all, thank you to the staff who were nice, especially the young kids in the restaurant and bar.

We were suppose to be staying at another hotel and we left as was awful this beautiful hotel found us a room and we had the most amazing night in the hythe imperial. We stayed in room 204 and it was beautiful, we used the pool and spa twice. The pool is lovely and warm and the jacuzzi is something else. The bed was so comfy and the sea views were special. The reception lady was so helpful on finding us a room and the guy working at the pool was really friendly and welcoming! Thank you guys for rescuing our night away
Holiday Inn Ashford - North A20

We've not been overly impressed with any of the IHG brands we've stayed with since the pandemic, but this hotel was up to pre-Covid standards, and very good value for money. We stayed for one night -- the room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and although the breakfast was unexciting, it was more than adequate. The bathroom seemed old-fashioned, but the water pressure was good and the towels were large. Earlier this year we stayed at the Crowne Plaza at Place de Republic in Paris and this was such a better experience on so many levels. All the staff were SO friendly. Our room was on the first floor with a short flight of stairs and the woman tending the bar insisted on carrying our bags to our rooms. I can't remember the last time that happened -- even at much more expensive hotels. In the morning there weren't any scrambled eggs and the woman looked after the buffet said it wasn't a problem and got some cooked for me. The only downside is that the hotel is very isolated -- the neighbouring pub is closed. That wasn't a problem for us as we had eaten with friends before checking in and were only staying for one night, but if you want any nightlife you will have to drive.
Doubletree by Hilton Dartford Bridge

I stayed at the Doubletree in Dartford on business and what a fantastic experience it was. The hotel itself is has been refurbished to a very high standard, the rooms are spacious and modern whilst the bar and restaurant areas are contemporary whilst giving off a great vibe. Last and by no means least, the staff at the hotel are all fantastic. Friendly, helpful, greet you with a smile regardless of how busy they are but a special mention for Rosie and Ellie on the front desk for their excellent service. Keep up these high standards please.

We were headed up to our room in no time with all the info we needed for the perfect stay. Parking is free as is the pool. The pool has adult and kids hours so check ahead of time so if younfancy an adult free time ots available. Pool area had steam and sauna along with ice, pool and heated lounge chairs x2. The rooms were very clean and quiet. We had a lovely stay and plan to visit again.

Campanile Dartford - South East of London

Another one night stop over at this rather worn out looking Campanile which still had modem connections: yikes. That said, it was still an enjoyable stay all the same. (The Campanile's at Liverpool and Manchester have the same worn look). If people are traveling to the ferry port or euro tunnel then this is hotel is a must, as a one night stop over. Its always best for travellers that they should be south of the Thames if its to the ports they are traveling too. The room was clean and tidy and the staff more than helpful and the hotel is not far from either Asda or the Bluewater shopping centre - get out and about (there's a good walk along the Thames also). The breakfast was very good and included in the booking price. All in all a good night stop over in a good hotel, in a good location and with excellent staff (never know bad ones) what more do yo want. Bon journey
Holiday Inn Rochester - Chatham

This is a nostalgic journey. The predecessor of this hotel was the first residence I went to the UK decades ago. So I chose this hotel for three nights in this trip to the UK. Unfortunately, the situation has changed. Disappointed, it turned out to be a leisure hotel. Now it has become a working hotel. The leisure equipment is not very adequate. The most disappointing thing is that we have to take a long road every day to get to the room, because the hotel is partially built. There is no other passage for the remote room. The outside environment is not very good, because the project is in progress. In fact, the advantage of this hotel is that it is very close to the expressway. This has not changed, but other facilities are not good enough. It is. The price is relatively high and the price of this hotel is low.
