The decor has a chic, 'Shanghai petty bourgeoisie' style and feels quite new. The rooms are spacious and feature smart home technology, so you barely need to use the air conditioning. Even rooms near the parking area are quiet with the windows open. Housekeeping comes daily, and the rooms are very clean. The second floor offers a children's play area, a small gym, and a billiards room. The best part is the self-service laundry; if you're out for a long time and can't collect your clothes, just write down your room number and the front desk will arrange for staff to deliver them to your room. It's a fantastic hotel, and the breakfast is good too."

"Flying home from Kunming, I booked the Chengji Hotel near the airport. The front desk service was excellent. There were only two breakfast vouchers for my family of three, but seeing that my child wasn't so little, they gave us an extra breakfast voucher. The room was very comfortable, and there's a washer and dryer, which is a must-have for me when choosing hotels for travel. It gets so hot in the summer that you sweat easily, and clothes can start to smell if not washed promptly. Without a dryer, they won't dry, but this hotel has four dryers available."

"What an amazing getaway! If you are more into nature and culture....THIS IS YOUR SPOT! It is tucked away inside Shuhe Old Town but you would never know. Once you get there, it is quiet. They are very proud to show you their gardens, their squirrels (they are well provided for), their cats, and what they truly enjoy. We were welcomed with drinks, fruit, and delicious buckwheat bread while we were introduced to the dining area and the movie and games area. Their menu is wonderful. Breakfast is provided and has a set menu of Asian versus Western (i had French toast one morning and pancakes the next) and then an extra section where you can also have yogurt with toppings, fruits, breads, coffee, etc. Other meals are ordered from the menu. The variety is wonderful and the taste and quality are worth it. After traveling throughout China for a few weeks, I really just wanted a burger. The Yak burger was amazing! WARNING: once you pick it up for the first bite, you must commit to it. There is no putting it down. My hands were just a joyous mix of meat juice, cheese dripping, pickle juice, egg dripping....luckily there is a restroom right there to wash up after. Our room was very cute, small, odd, but it worked for us and you could tell it would be cozy come the snow seasons-which we will return for. The odd part was the steps that lead down into the bathroom. I thought, oooo how fun! Not so much in the middle of the night if you are not used to it. But not all rooms have that so don't let that discourage you from enjoying this place. If you are finished walking Shuhe Old Town, there are more options. We decided to walk around the back of the garden. Following the trail, we wound up in a very beautiful park with water and bridges and places to sit. Eventually, we came out at one of the ends of Shuhe. Again, you would never have known because there was no interrupting noises to tell you otherwise. One of the days we took Didi to Baisha Old Town. Another must go! We spent a full day there and still did not finish. Even the rain didn't stop everyone from enjoying everything. Make sure you find the silk art school. It is tucked away but they have a wonderful program. I could do an entire blog on their contributions and empowerment for women but for now, just go enjoy and buy something, support them. Overall, we loved this place and will go back. We were not able to enjoy the mountain this time."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the Starlight Night Market. The river-view rooms offer a direct view of the Lancang River, the Starlight Night Market, and White Elephant Beach! I stayed on the south side of the river for New Year's Eve and watched the fireworks show, and this time staying on the north side was a great, varied experience!
They upgraded our room to one with a river view, and the scenery is beautiful. However, the bass from the Six Nations Music Plaza downstairs plays continuously until after 11 PM, so those with heart conditions should definitely reconsider!!!
The hotel lobby is grand, fresh, and elegant, with a rich Dai ethnic flair. The reception staff's Dai traditional clothing is beautiful and graceful! There are welcome drinks in the lobby!
The hotel offers free hot springs, a water park, and an infinity pool. The hot spring water is relatively clean, but a few pools had some moss, which I suggest they clean promptly! The pool faces the Lancang River directly, making it perfect for photos!
Breakfast was abundant, with a wide variety of delicious options!
The service was warm and friendly; staff actively smiled and greeted guests!

"Five-star review! Having traveled to the southwest for many years and visited Dali countless times, the unhurried, wild charm of the old town has become increasingly hard to find. Fortunately, my old friend's hillside retreat—Yanxiu Ge Seaview Mountain House—has become my most comfortable home-away-from-home every time I visit Dali.
The courtyard is nestled at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, where plants grow freely and unadorned, meticulously cared for without feeling artificial. From the high terrace, one glance reveals the vast expanse of Erhai Lake, the old town, and rolling clouds over Cangshan, with a long breeze sweeping through the trees. DenisStaying in the Jacuzzi Villa was an absolute delight! The Naxi-style courtyard was elegant and peaceful, and the private, temperature-controlled Jacuzzi was clean and comfortable. Soaking under the stars at night melted away all my travel fatigue. I must commend Elin, our butler, for her outstanding service. From coordinating before our arrival to her attentive care during our stay, she was always quick to respond to any needs. She was thoughtful and professional, never intrusive, which truly enhanced the relaxing vacation vibe. The facilities were excellent, and the service was an added bonus – a perfect Lijiang getaway! Highly recommended!

Anonymous UserDuring my time in Lijiang, this was the only hotel I was truly satisfied with. I was honestly so tired of those so-called 'owner-run' B&Bs where you pay good money but get no sense of service, feeling cramped like you're intruding in someone else's home.
Hygiene: Everything was excellent.
Environment: Remarkably good. Both the reception and the hotel's public areas are exceptionally spacious for the Old Town. A major plus is that it's just a five-minute walk along the main road from the parking lot. Many B&Bs in the Old Town, even those not cheap, are tucked away down winding alleys with cramped receptions and gardens. This place truly offers the facilities of a proper hotel. The garden is also beautifully maintained. All public areas are lovely, well-equipped, and there's even a play area for children. The complimentary travel photography service also had very kind staff.
Service: Every staff member I encountered was excellent, from management to restaurant and front desk staff. They not only greeted me proactively but also offered enthusiastic help.
I've already recommended it to all my friends planning to visit Lijiang. I hope the owner continues to have great business, and that both the pets and staff receive even better welfare and benefits.

Guest UserWe had a pleasant stay overall, with several things that really stood out.
The room was extremely spacious, with two king-sized beds and plenty of room to move around. It was comfortable and gave us ample space to relax. The dining area also offered gorgeous scenery, making meals much more enjoyable.
The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and responsive. When we discovered some hair caught in the hair trap in the bathroom when we checked in, we reported it to the front desk. They immediately arranged for housekeeping to come and clean it. We were also pleasantly surprised when the front desk later delivered a dessert to our room as a gesture of goodwill. This was a nice example of prompt and thoughtful service recovery. Another small but memorable example of the front desk team's helpfulness happened after midnight. I had an issue with the dryer and needed to open it in the middle of its cycle, but could not figure out how to do so. Although it was already past midnight, the front desk staff patiently helped me troubleshoot the problem and guided me on how to open it. Her assistance quickly resolved the issue, and I really appreciated her willingness to help despite the late hour.
Another lovely touch was the warm milk delivered to our room daily. We also enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea, especially the beautiful dessert designed in the shape of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. These little touches made the stay feel special.
Unfortunately, the restaurant experience at the hotel was a weak point. We went for dinner at around 9pm. After the staff seated us, they disappeared, and despite the restaurant being very large, there were no other wait staff in sight. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I eventually had to go looking for someone and tell him that we wanted to order.
When we asked whether using DianPing or the hotel guest discount would offer better value for a particular meal we wanted to order, the staff member was unable to advise us. We had to work out the best option ourselves. While this may seem like a small matter, I would expect restaurant staff in a hotel to be familiar with the promotions and benefits available to guests and to be able to provide basic guidance.
Things did not improve much after our mushroom hotpot was served. We were essentially left to figure out how to prepare and eat the hotpot ourselves, without any explanation or assistance from the restaurant staff.
Based on our experience, they appeared to lack some basic training in customer service, attentiveness and product knowledge. The issue was not that they were unfriendly; rather, they seemed somewhat clueless and undertrained, which made the dining experience unnecessarily difficult.
Overall, the hotel has many strengths — a wonderfully spacious room, beautiful scenery, friendly front desk staff and thoughtful guest amenities. The service recovery from the front desk was also impressive and showed that the hotel genuinely cares about its guests.
However, the restaurant service needs significant improvement. Better staff training, stronger attentiveness and greater familiarity with the menu and hotel promotions would make a big difference. With those improvements, this could be a much more enjoyable and polished hotel experience.

The room was very spacious and well-equipped.
The decor and design were fantastic. The renovation of the historic building is quite unique, and the courtyard is breathtaking.
The housekeeping service was excellent, and any requests were promptly addressed.
The breakfast was also delicious, featuring some unique dishes.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yunnan.

It is tucked away but they have a wonderful program. I could do an entire blog on their contributions and empowerment for women but for now, just go enjoy and buy something, support them. Overall, we loved this place and will go back. We were not able to enjoy the mountain this time.

Choosing this guesthouse in Lijiang was absolutely the right decision, I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again. The room conditions were excellent, and fresh fruit was provided. The owner was incredibly genuine, spontaneously upgraded our room for free, and even handled our transfers to and from the airport/station. We bothered the owner quite a bit throughout our stay, and he was always incredibly patient. When we were caught in heavy rain and stranded on a mountain attraction, unable to get down, the owner continuously helped us figure out a solution. In the evening, he even helped us heat up our BBQ and brought us beer. He was thoughtful and attentive throughout our entire stay, without any pretense. This guesthouse offers great value for money and is full of genuine warmth; I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Lijiang.

HuiyalanI stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. I was quite hesitant before choosing it, especially after reading about the negative elevator incident, which made me really worry about safety. So, every time I took the elevator during my stay, I was on edge. The main reason I decided to stay was for the hot springs and swimming pool, as it's been raining a lot in Kunming recently, and I figured we'd just enjoy the hotel. Honestly, I wasn't particularly impressed with the service, and the facilities are quite old, very old. If it weren't for the constant rain and traveling with a child, I probably wouldn't have chosen this hotel. Especially after visiting Fuxian Lake, the comparison really highlighted its shortcomings.

This was the most satisfying and unexpected hotel of my Yunnan trip. They truly embodied the essence of Kerry, even exceeding my previous experiences with the brand. They perfectly catered to my exhaustion and fatigue, achieving the ultimate in service and design, blending lifestyle with convenience. From the moment I arrived at the hotel in the early morning, suffering from altitude sickness in Shangri-La, I was sleepy, tired, and had a terrible headache. The receptionist at the entrance warmly and enthusiastically welcomed me, patiently arranged my room in the early hours, and sincerely told me that if I needed oxygen, the hotel would provide it free of charge. In that situation and environment, I felt a warmth like that of family. I was surprised three times during my stay.
The first surprise came on the way to my room by car, when I was awestruck by the hotel's night view. It was far more beautiful than what my camera could capture; only seeing it in person can convey the true feeling of the courtyard blending seamlessly with the mountains and forests. When I opened the door, I was amazed by the interior. It abandoned the traditional hotel layout, with the designer's vision integrating modernity and tradition. The lighting was just right, and nothing in the interior felt superfluous. That night was the best sleep I had throughout my entire trip. When I woke up in the morning and drew back the curtains, I realized the designer had transformed the mountains and space into a canvas and painted within it. Spending a week in the room felt like I myself was a stroke of rich ink.
The hotel has many facilities for guests to enjoy. I literally spent the entire day after I woke up just soaking in the hotel. I experienced local roasted tea, tried wild matsutake mushrooms, took photos with alpacas and miniature horses, and simply drank tea, ate, and strolled around the hotel. Before I knew it, the day was over. The scenery is truly beautiful, and unfortunately, I am not eloquent enough to perfectly convey my story with this secluded gem, including the meticulous details of housekeeping and laundry service, which constantly remind you of their absolute dedication and heartwarming care. Some feelings and experiences are difficult to describe in words; you truly have to experience it yourself to understand their meticulousness, their attentiveness, and that kind of care like family and friends.

It's rare to find a hotel that truly feels like a home away from home, but Bolian Hot Spring Resort certainly does!
First, let's talk about the service. We stayed during the off-season, so there weren't many staff around, but you could still feel the warmth and professionalism from everyone, from our butler Dashi to the restaurant, hot springs, and front desk staff. The front desk staff even multi-tasked, making us tea and driving us to our room. Their professional training was evident throughout our stay.
Even though the hotel has been open for twenty years, it doesn't feel old or dated at all. Every corner of the hotel is picturesque, and the hot springs are fantastic. The courtyard in our room was breathtakingly beautiful.
To our pleasant surprise, the restaurant's food was delicious, with excellent Yunnan cuisine.
We will definitely be back again.
The hotel also provided complimentary executive car airport transfers and vouchers that could be used for dining or spa services at the hotel, which was a very nice touch.
