Hotel near Downtown Los Angeles,Los Angeles
In a city of big dreams and even bigger signs, citizenM Los Angeles Downtown brings comfort and cool right to South Spring and West 4th Streets. This stylish spot puts you at the gateway to the Broadway Theater District and Little Tokyo – with museums, markets and taco joints just a stroll away. The metro station is one block over, so you can zip off to the Walk of Fame, Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard like a local. Prefer to stay close? No problem. Our living room has skyline views and a bar worth staying in for. In your room, nestle into an XL king-size bed with blackout blinds, mood lighting, Chromecast and an in-room tablet that controls it all. Free Wi-Fi, 24/7 food at canteenM and contactless check-in come as standard. For working travellers, there’s societyM meeting rooms and Union Station just 10 minutes away. Big beds. Big art. Big city fun.

"This hotel is in a great location in Downtown LA. From LAX, I took the FlyAway bus ($12.75) and then two subway stops ($1.75, flat fare) to Pershing Square, and it was just across the street. There's a paid outdoor parking lot opposite the hotel (I don't recommend renting a car in LA – traffic can be bad, parking is expensive, and California gas prices are high, around $2/liter. Public transport is only $1.75 per ride, with a $5 daily cap, and a $20 refill on a Tap Card is usually enough to get around LA). Safety-wise, I'd say it's decent. It's in a transitional area between the more dangerous Skid Row and the safer Financial District in DTLA. I'd advise against coming back too late or wandering around at night. If you do come back late, it's best to take an Uber. If you're walking, try not to stare at the homeless, and don't engage if they talk to you. The hotel has a live front desk and security. You need to use your key card to enter after 6 PM and also to use the elevator. It feels very safe during the day, so you can confidently go out and explore. Theft and robbery aren't as prevalent in the US as some might think; you'll see plenty of people playing on their phones while waiting at traffic lights, and people carry their backpacks normally. The hotel rooms, while not huge, have distinctive lighting. There's a tablet by the bed that allows you to activate a 'sleep mode' with one tap, and you can control the lights and TV channels through it, which is very cozy and comfortable. However, there's no kettle for hot water. For someone like me who likes hot drinks, you can go to the bar on the first floor and ask the staff for hot water for free. They also have various free tea bags. Coffee and alcoholic drinks are extra, though. If you don't feel like going out at night, ordering a drink and chatting with an American is a great way to experience the nightlife – Americans are really good conversationalists!"

"I stayed here for three days. The service was great. Room was clean, and housekeeping did an excellent mid stay cleaning. The actual room was older, and that included the mattress. It was very lumpy and uncomfortable. I woke up sore a few times. Overall great hotel, just really in need of updates."

Reflecting the bold, adventurous spirit of California, Moxy Downtown Los Angeles is a haven for modern nomads in LA’s creative epicenter. Our location on Figueroa Street is steps away from the LA Convention Center, LA Live and Crypto.com Arena, formerly Staples Center. Brought to life by an all-star team of architecture and interior design firms, the hotel channels the neighborhood’s forward-thinking energy and multicultural heritage. The hotel’s 12 dining and entertainment options include Level 8, a collection of restaurants, bars, and lounges that highlight DTLA’s diverse cultures and cuisines, and a rooftop bar on the 34th floor with views that sweep all the way to the Hollywood Hills. 4 outdoor terraces overlook the LA skyline, and flexible, tech-centric spaces foster co-working, meetings, and large social events. Floor-to-ceiling windows light up the smartly designed and affordable bedrooms, and a playful, cheeky attitude fuels the imagination.

"Visited LA for the Auto Show at the Convention Center. This hotel was perfect as it was just across the street from the Center. The view from our room was great, the room was a bit compact but good enough. Comfy beds, strong shower head, and great breakfast buffet on the 34th floor. They had Happy Hour at the Bar Moxy on the main level, decent burger and chicken wings. The service could've been a bit more friendlier and attentive instead of us asking when we needed something. Nonetheless I would definitely consider staying here again for another event at the Center."

"Everything was good except the fact of someone pounding on my door at 1:00am then they took off! It was ridiculously unacceptable as they think it’s funny! Other then that, the view of the beach from our room was spectacular. Well worth the cost. Checking in/out was quick and easy."

"The hotel is old and appears renovated at some point but perhaps not by contractors experienced in finish work. Overall, nice stay because we made it a nice stay for us. DO NOT PAY FOR THE BREAKFAST. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Floors were squeaky so we heard walking until wee hours of the morning. Choose a top floor if you can. Cleaning crews were noisy in the morning right outside our door so don't count in sleeping in pass 9:00 AM. Toilet was loose and rocked as you sit. Shower and sink had mold in the grout joints giving the impression of unsanitized although the smell of bleach upon arrival was quite strong. Our window had wood rot and the crank was broken so the window could only be pushed or pulled open by the muntins. Hotel was a bit pricey for what you get but this is a tourist destination so expect mediocre for high price."

"This hotel is super beautiful, it is my Dream house, and the housekeeper Ellen is super good. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we prepared wine for us. There are welcome snacks at the door. There are water and biscuits and various cheeses in the refrigerator. The whole is beautiful, like a fairy tale hotel. It was a block from Hollywood, and I was a little worried because the neighborhood was so remote and quiet, but it was a safe neighborhood. It was close enough to walk to the Laundry Mart. More than a week, suitable for tourists It was a clean hotel. The staff is friendly, but the room is a bit small. Free coffee and water was good The downside is that breakfast and parking are paid.

Front desk personnel was very friendly and attentive. The room, hmm. Clean but beat up. And broken. The fireplace did not work. Big bummer. Maintenance got it working, but if we turned it ff, it would not go back on. So, it was a one shot deal. Plus, you never want to have to call in maintenance once you are already in the room. Its just uncomfortable. The window opened on ground level to parking lot two feet from window. One window did not lock at all. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling I have these at home, but don't expect cobwebs at a hotel. The fan in the bathroom did not work. So it got very stuffy in there and never dried out from shower. Overall, I would not book here again. there are plenty of other hotel Inns along this stretch of beach, all with the same excellent location.
