First, the pros: The natural scenery at this hotel is absolutely breathtaking, making even the West Lake State Guest House seem modest in comparison. The boardwalks throughout the hotel are also beautifully maintained. If you're looking for peace and quiet, there's no need to visit the East Lake Scenic Area nearby – this place *is* the scenic area.
While staying at the hotel, you can also visit Mao Zedong's former residence. There's a restaurant next to the residence with an impeccable dining environment, which I unfortunately only discovered upon checking out.
The hotel's east gate has a bus terminal where you can catch a bus to the museum, Yellow Crane Tower, and Tanhualin. It’s a great way to enjoy the city views while traveling. There are also many restaurants nearby.
Now for the cons: The facilities are a bit dated. The outlets in the room are very loose; I could only charge my devices in the bathroom. Also, there are so many mirrors that it constantly created visual illusions.
There's no elevator access to the rooms for breakfast, so I had to climb stairs every time.
Despite these points, I still highly recommend this hotel and hope for improvements.

This century-old building boasts a stylish interior. The en-suite bathroom in the room is like something out of an executive suite. My room faced the inner courtyard, so it was quiet, and excellent value for money. The staff were attentive and thoughtful. The lobby, coffee bar, and terrace all have fantastic ambiance. I loved listening to the bells by the river, and in the evening, a 200-meter walk to catch the 1.5 yuan ferry across the river offered a stunning view of the sunset and the changing light as the city lights came on – absolutely beautiful! The morning chimes of the Jianghan Customs House transported me back a hundred years. The hotel even thoughtfully provided complimentary coffee and afternoon tea, along with travel photography to capture those lovely moments. Travel is all about enriching experiences, and the Good Century Meilun is so worth it. Next time I visit, I'll definitely stay here again!
Ambiance: Stylish and chic.

Marco Polo Wuhan: An Unexpectedly Great Stay at a Classic Five-Star Hotel
**Reason for Choosing:**
When booking a hotel, location was my top priority, and the Marco Polo certainly delivers. However, after browsing online reviews, which were a mixed bag of good and bad, I was a bit hesitant. Then I remembered the Hong Kong Marco Polo, a long-standing establishment I’ve always held in high regard. Trusting in the reputation of classic hotels, I decided to go with this one.
**Location:**
Absolutely unbeatable location. The hotel is right next to the Yangtze River, and just across the road is Jiangtan Park, perfect for a pleasant evening stroll – it has a bit of an old Shanghai Bund vibe. Next to the hotel is Lihuangpi Road, a charming street with many cafes, also reminiscent of Shanghai. The entire riverside avenue features old, historic buildings, and the view of the buildings across the river from Jiangtan Park is simply stunning.
**Room:**
I booked an Executive Floor room, which offered a view of the Yangtze River. The hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2024, so while the room's layout retains a classic hotel style, the soft furnishings, carpets, and other elements are all new, making for a very comfortable stay. The room size was also quite generous. Many online reviews mentioned issues with the rooms, but I was extremely satisfied with mine.
**Executive Lounge:**
The Executive Lounge was the highlight of my stay.
* **Ambiance:** The lounge boasts excellent river views and a fantastic atmosphere. The table linens and decor transported me back to the golden age of classic hotels – I remember a time when staying on the Executive Floor meant checking in separately at the lounge, enjoying breakfast there for peace and quiet away from the crowded main dining area, and having afternoon tea and happy hour. Nowadays, many hotels cut these services to save costs. We had just come from the Grand Hyatt in Changsha, where they’d even stopped offering breakfast in the Executive Lounge. So, it was truly satisfying to see that this hotel still maintains the high standards and style of a classic hotel.
* **Service:** The Executive Lounge staff were incredibly attentive. I can honestly say it was the best service I've experienced in an Executive Lounge at any 5-star hotel in recent years. The staff genuinely went above and beyond to meet every guest's request. A special shout-out to Xiaoxiong (Fairy)!
* **Food & Beverage:** The afternoon tea and Happy Hour selections were abundant. The breakfast was even more impressive, featuring an à la carte menu. This truly embodies the customer-centric philosophy of a classic luxury five-star hotel.
**Service Philosophy (Special Commendation):**
In an era where many five-star hotels have completely forgotten their fundamental goal of “serving guests” and prioritize cost-cutting, the Marco Polo stands apart. It continues to uphold its service philosophy, truly embodying the essence of a luxury hotel. This dedication is incredibly touching and highly commendable.
**Overall Impression:**
This stay was unexpectedly wonderful. It offered great value for money. All the negative issues I had worried about from online reviews didn't materialize. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends, and if they visit Wuhan, especially Hankou, this will be my top recommendation.

Our hotel stay completely exceeded expectations. Even at the May Day holiday inflated price of 800 a night, I felt it was excellent value for money. But then I found out the regular price is less than 300 – oh my goodness! Everything about the hotel, from the facilities and decor to the cleanliness and service, was top-notch. The location is superb; you can easily walk along the river to Yellow Crane Tower, the Yangtze River Bridge, Liangdao Street, and Tan Hualin. The owner has fantastic taste; I especially loved the lobby and room decor. The restaurant's ambiance was perfect, so chill that even after dinner, we decided to head back down for a drink. I wholeheartedly recommend this thoughtfully run hotel to all my friends visiting Wuhan.

We chose the right hotel for our trip to Yichang! As soon as we entered the lobby, we were greeted by soothing music, which instantly washed away our travel fatigue. The atmosphere was incredibly comfortable. I especially want to commend Xiao He, the front desk assistant. She was so kind and patient during check-in. She not only provided directions to nearby attractions but also provided helpful weather updates. The service was thoughtful and heartwarming, making our stay a truly memorable one. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yichang! The laundry service was also a welcome addition, adding to the comfort of our trip. Plus, the hotel is super close to the snack street, which is incredibly convenient!

Fantastic river view and attentive service from all staff. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and the room facilities were brand new and complete. The smart devices were easy to use, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The room also came with an air purifier and an oxygen bar, making for maximum comfort. The front desk staff were warm and professional, handling check-in efficiently and patiently answering all questions. My entire experience was perfect, highly recommended!

Coming to ***** for business and visa processing, choosing to stay at the Lanyunji Hotel Chuhe Hanjie SKP branch was absolutely the right decision. The hotel boasts an excellent location, with numerous government agencies and service centers nearby, and convenient transportation, making getting around very efficient. The room was quiet and tidy, and the internet was stable and fast, perfect for temporary work. A special thank you to the front desk staff who helped me print the documents I needed. The hotel facilities are new and very comfortable, and the service is attentive and thorough. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. I was able to handle my business peacefully and get some good rest. Overall, I had a very satisfying experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting ***** for business or work.

The room was clean and tidy, and the facilities were mostly complete. The only minor drawback was the lack of a desk, but you could get a foldable one from the front desk, so it was acceptable. The hotel is located inside a block with many eateries downstairs, including Feifei Shrimp Restaurant diagonally across. It's about a kilometer from Yellow Crane Tower and within one or two kilometers of Liangdao Street. The subway station is just a hundred meters away, making travel very convenient. The hotel's front desk and staff were all very enthusiastic and friendly, actively asking guests if they needed any help with their check-in. At 230-240 RMB for a weeknight, it's relatively affordable. It's a good option for solo travelers.
The private hot spring rooms at Jingshan Tianmu Hot Spring Hotel are one of its core highlights, offering exclusive hot spring experiences for guests seeking privacy and relaxation. These private pools are typically located on the balcony area of the guest rooms, featuring a dry-wet separation design that ensures both privacy and ventilation. The pools are spacious, not just simple bathtubs, but actual soaking tubs where guests can ”play in the water,” large enough to accommodate a family of three. The hot spring water fills quickly, taking about 10 minutes to fill, with an initial high temperature of over 50 degrees Celsius. Cooling water can be added simultaneously to adjust the temperature to a comfortable level. This design allows families, especially those with children, to safely and comfortably enjoy water activities in their rooms, avoiding crowding in public areas. Some high-end room types, such as the ”Bo Xin Tang Yuan” and ”Zi Jin Tang Yuan” villas, also feature independent courtyards and even larger outdoor soaking tubs, further enhancing privacy and the overall experience.
In terms of experience details, the hot spring water originates from the Tangyanfan Geothermal Field and is a rare hot spring rich in various minerals such as metasilicic acid, radon, fluorine, and strontium, leaving the skin feeling smooth after soaking. The hotel opened in 2023, so the facilities are relatively new and the overall environment is clean. The natural wood-style decor is also well-received. Service is responsive; requests for services such as water and mops are quickly fulfilled. However, some guests have mentioned details that could be improved, such as the less-than-ideal soundproofing of some room doors. Overall, for families seeking privacy, convenience, and high-quality family time, the private hot spring rooms at Jingshan Tianmu are a highly recommended choice.

ZZeijiushidalianrenThe hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable. It's situated right on Yanjiang Avenue, directly across from a huge riverside park. You can step downstairs and immediately enjoy views of the Yangtze River, cherry blossoms, and the night cruise boats – no need to go anywhere else. Right next to the hotel are the Soong Ching Ling Former Residence and the Wuhan Municipal Government building. Behind it is the Wuhan Women's Federation, and the famous Bagong House is a short walk away. It's quite luxurious and grand.
The hotel's swimming pool and amenities are all excellent and fully equipped.
However, I generally wouldn't recommend the hotel breakfast. There isn't much to choose from; it's probably the worst breakfast I've had at a five-star hotel.
If you have the option, definitely stay in an executive suite. You can enjoy river views right from your bed, and the toiletries are all brand-name products.
For food delivery, you'll need to go downstairs to pick it up yourself. The hotel can deliver it to your room, but it's slow.

GGuest UserThe room was pretty standard, with a retro vibe and a view of Hankou city. Courage at the front desk provided excellent service. When checking in, she recommended the apartment's 'Green Apple Plan,' which offers a cultural and creative gift instead of daily housekeeping – a pretty novel idea! She also suggested Ronghua Street nearby for authentic Wuhan breakfast. The breakfast restaurant extending its hours until 10:30 AM on weekends was perfect for my late mornings, and they even had local hot dry noodles. My only minor wish is that the dining area were a bit larger. The gym having a punching bag and a table tennis room is a great touch, offering more options for guests who aren't into heavy lifting.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is superb, making it incredibly convenient to visit attractions like Yellow Crane Tower, Hubu Alley, and Tan Hualin. The breakfast spread is also fantastic. From the 12th-floor observation restaurant, you get a clear and amazing view of the Yangtze River Bridge and Yellow Crane Tower! Plus, there's a kids' play area! The hotel service is excellent, especially our concierge, Lele, who was incredibly thoughtful. They even considered our needs and offered a lower pillow, which was a very considerate and wonderful touch!

WWalter Zhou-zhouyipingI booked this Holiday Inn Express along the river in advance on Ctrip, as I was taking my parents back to Yichang to visit family and pay respects at the cemetery.
My flight landed a bit late, but the front desk service was excellent when I checked in.
The hotel's overall environment is very clean, and the room amenities are complete. Although the room faced the street (with a river view), the soundproofing was good.
There's also a laundry room and a gym on the second floor. The restaurant is next to the gym; while the breakfast selection isn't huge, they have hot dry noodles, which taste great.
Overall, it was a very good stay.

HheeqinnI stayed for three nights during Hilton's peak year-end conference season, with many company annual meetings. I almost couldn't book a room through Trip.com. The young man at the front desk was a bit stingy, refusing either breakfast or executive lounge access. However, thanks to a helpful friend in the reservations department, I paid the difference and stayed in an executive suite for three nights. Although it wasn't a lake view room, my positive impression from previous stays continued. The hotel's service in all aspects was good, and despite being peak annual meeting season, it wasn't noisy. Special commendation goes to Feng Chongtian and Chen Zhishan from the health center and kids' club! They were especially friendly and patient with children.😄

GGuest UserI brought my children with me. The weather is a bit hot. I really want to play in the pool. The water park will only open next month. Xiao Wang at the front desk is very enthusiastic. He sees that we have a lot of things, so he offers to help with it. Xu Cui'e, the aunt in the room, also helps to deliver the water , very timely, the early beef noodles are really delicious, the children in the dinosaur park like it very much, very realistic
NNvdaye692853938The second time I came, as soon as I entered the lobby, the warm lighting and exquisite decoration instantly impressed me. The front desk guy Feng Li provided good service, checked in quickly, and sent welcome fruits. The room was very cozy, the bedding was so comfortable that it felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the soundproofing was great, so I could have a good night's sleep. The gym equipment was new, and there were Chinese and Western breakfasts with a wide variety. They also helped me call a taxi when I checked out, and the service was so thoughtful. I will definitely stay here again next time I come here!
GGusitafuadaofuershiThe location of the hotel is excellent, facing Mochou Lake,2.5 kilometers away from the obvious Lingmochou Village, 5 minutes drive, 500 meters from the museum, walking distance, there are many food and beverage farmhouses around, eating and living are very convenient. The interior furnishings are relatively old, but clean and tidy, and the living experience is still very good. Breakfast category is rich and tastes good
GGuest UserThe hotel is located on top of an office building, with rooms on the 37th to 40th floors. The underground parking lot has dedicated hotel parking spaces and elevators. Despite being on high floors, the elevators are very fast. There are also charging stations downstairs. Yichang has an abundant power supply, so electricity fees aren't expensive. The hotel service is excellent; they contacted me a day in advance to inform me about directions to the hotel, parking, and other details. My stay was very comfortable. This was my first time in Yichang, and I originally just planned to rest during a road trip. However, I found it to be a beautiful city and ended up staying an extra day. The river view is truly stunning!
