It was founded in 905, and two years later, to congratulate Zhu Wen on his arrival, it was renamed "Long Live Temple" (commonly known as the Pagoda Temple). The existing temple was rebuilt during the Qingdao light years. The temple is divided into three major halls: the Temple of Heavenly Kings, the Palace of the Great Hall and the Fayu Hall. The temple is surrounded by Huafeng Hall, the abbot's room, the living room, and the monk's house. Next to the temple is the famous 41 meters high, seven floors and eight corners, and the white-ash white tower ("Dingguang Multi-Pagoda"). Tourists can climb to the top of the tower and overlook the city. Fayutang was built by people to commemorate the "salary self-immolation" of the monks of the temple in the aftermath of Liangshi. Fayutang was also once the school of Yan Fu Reading Office, the school of Fujian Ship Administration School in the Qing Dynasty.
