Service with a smile from a friendly lady. Good sized portions served quickly but not too quickly to feel rushed. Only complaint would be their pie is not a pie. It is a dish with a pastry lid - shame. Had fish and chips, excellent batter.

Today I thought o would try their Pie. It was a choice of roast beef, vegetable wellington or the pie! I am really glad I chose the pie. An enormous puff pastry lid with an absolutely delicious beef and ale inner. Must be one if the best pies I have ever eaten. Really tender. Loved it
We hadn’t been for a little while. We last went as a family booking for Christmas. My wife chose the fish both last time and this time. Sea Bass. Last time it was definitely over cooked and hard, not very nice! This time a completely perfectly cooked Sea Bass. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Lamb. Very good. Very attentive staff. Many families in this day, but to me that’s a great sign. Really enjoyed our meals. Thank youOh lovely Fentimens ginger beer.
We found this pub by chance and booked a table when approx 10minutes away.As soon as we walked in it looked like the right choice, plenty of room and the staff looked happy. There were 3 adults and a 4year old and straight away after sitting down the 4year old was given crayons and paper to keep her occupied. The food was lovely and not overpriced the choice of drinks was great I'll definitely be returning,if not just to see the lovely manager ( l think)
All three of us had the haddock fish cakes and we all cleared our plates! The broccoli was very "en dante" we didn't mind! We've been here a few times and always enjoyed ourselves! It's not cheap but probably because ifs such a lovely location
