The plan was to meet up with a mate for a beer and a catch-up. The Bell was the perfect half-way house so we thought it’d be ideal for a mid-week chilled beer. I arrived first and the bar was busy with locals chatting about music. They included me straight away and then invited me to take part in their quiz night. My mate turned up so we took a seat and settled in for the quiz. It was music themed and most surprisingly, the songs were sung live by a brilliant female singer who was great fun. At halftime they provided fried chicken and chips on the house before proceeding with the rest of the quiz. Not at all what we expected, but one of the best Wednesday evenings I’ve had for a while. Super-friendly bunch, great atmosphere, good value & wide range of beers. AND, we won the quiz!! We found out from the landlord that it is the last quiz of the season as they only do them in the winter months, We’ll definitely make The Bell a regular half-way house. Thanks for a great night.

Best Wednesday evening for a long time!
