Banoffee French toast with toast almonds｜Yes, French toast again…Although I always want to change the taste, I can’t help ordering it whenever I see this on the menu. The sauce is a bit too thick and solid…I don’t like it very much. The overall taste is dry. If I compare it with Hepworth, I will still choose the latter. It also boasts many charming streets, gardens, and parks, such as the York Suburbs and the City Walls Walk. ❤️Here's my travelogue from Northern England: 🏠Accommodation: Liverpool tune + Discovery Inn Leeds Day 1⃣️ I came to Manchester primarily to watch the afternoon's Premier League match between Manchester United and Leeds, so I spent the morning wandering around the city center. The city felt very modern and vibrant. [Laugh] At lunch, I checked out Richmond Café. The toast was a disaster, but the carrot cake was delicious! Next, we went to Classic Football, a secondhand jersey shop. Although I didn't find the jersey I liked, it was still fun to browse. We then took a Bolt taxi (cheap!) to Old Trafford. Before entering, we shopped in the official jersey shop. The fans were incredibly enthusiastic. When a goal was scored, I stood up with them and even threw my phone down. Dinner was at Mr. Thomas's. The roast beef was amazing! Day 2⃣️ We first visited Liverpool Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral, tried some local scouse, and then wandered to Albert Dock. There are statues of rock stars and the Beatles, and you can feel the atmosphere of the Cultural Revolution. Since the Museum of Liverpool was closed on Monday, we took photos outside. The strong wind by the sea made the photos a little funny. In the evening, we took a boat to the other side of the city to watch Liverpool at sunset. The view from the other side was beautiful, and it was worth it! Day 3⃣️ Leeds's urban style also feels quite modern and innovative. We first checked out Olive & Rye (it's very busy, so make an appointment first). We then visited the art gallery, Kirkgate Market (the birthplace of the famous British supermarket Marks & Spencer), the Royal Armouries, and the Corn Exchange. Day 4⃣️ We headed straight to York Minster around 9 a.m., but it was Ash Wednesday, so entrance was free, but photography was prohibited. After the visit, we walked a short distance to Butcher Street. Must-try spots on the street include the pork tart (£2 each), which features a thin crust filled with juicy pork [Cute], and the fairy wand shredded pork burger, which was both delicious and photogenic. Unfortunately, the shop was closed on Wednesdays, so we didn't even have a chance to queue [Spoof]. We then explored the city walls, Clifford's Tower, and the Merchant Adventurers' Hall (a popular attraction for fellow architecture students). York's streets are dotted with delicious bakeries and dessert shops, and the buildings along the way exude a sense of ancient tradition and history. Finally, we experienced the chocolate factory activities, which were interesting but not too much. We left for a hot chocolate (too sweet, not recommended). For dinner, we tried local pudding at The York Roast Co. and watched the beautiful cathedral light show before heading back to Edinburgh.
