The Elephant House

Edinburgh has a rare sunny sky in winter. Take a walk and have afternoon tea at the Elephant Cafe in Harry Potter. It feels like time has slowed down. This cafe is famous because of Harry Potter.

The Elephant Cafe is located opposite the National Museum of Scotland. This inconspicuous little shop is the place where all Harry Potter fans come to make a pilgrimage. The shadow of elephants can be seen everywhere in the store, on chairs, glasses, and coffee cups.

There are all kinds of elephants everywhere inside, which is worthy of its name. Many tourists come here to visit. Some coffee and simple meals are provided here, but you need to be led by a waiter to order. You can't find a seat and order by yourself. I don't know how long we have to wait, so we just took some photos.

A very popular restaurant, most people come here to eat and take photos. The environment is quite spacious, with many elephant models, dolls, and photos of JK Rowling at the time. There are many varieties of dishes, from various pastries for breakfast to steaks and potatoes for lunch, and the waiters are quite enthusiastic. Overall, it's OK!!!

J.K. Rowling completed the writing of Harry Potter in the Elephant Cafe. I am not a Harry Potter fan, I have never seen the movie or read the novel, but I still want to join in the fun. The sign of the Elephant Cafe is in Chinese, it seems that there are many Harry Potter fans and tourists from China. Because there were many customers waiting in line, we couldn't squeeze in to see the table where Rowling often sat, so we could only take pictures outside to check in.

I wanted to go to the ghost restaurant, but I didn't make a reservation? So I went there in advance. My child liked the environment here. The restaurant has a Chinese menu and there are many diners. During the meal, a hair was found on one of the dishes, so it was replaced. Later, the boss gave the child a lollipop and a badge, and the child was very happy.

My son is a Harry Potter fan. The Elephant Cafe is the birthplace of Harry Potter. "Birthplace of Harry Potter" is prominently displayed in the cafe window. It's quite noisy right now, so I guess it's difficult to write in a cafe these days. It happened to be the Edinburgh Festival, so the seaside setting was also great.
