Patisserie Roku

There is a French bakery Die Pâtisserier near my home. I love strawberry opera. In comparison, chocolate opera is too greasy to eat on a hot day. I originally bought a cupcake to put a candle in it, but I went to two small shops and couldn’t find a candle, so I ordered a mini Santa Claus that I have kept at home for several years (for decoration). There is also chocolate from Yuma Pralinen on the table (one of the founders is Lao Wu, the Berlin Fine Cuisine Chinese Food pop-up I wrote about before). I love Earl Grey tea and mango passion fruit the most. The desserts are limited. You have to grab them every month on WeChat group.

I was attracted by the aroma in the hot spring street. The small shop was full of puffs, souvenir cakes, cake rolls, etc. The prices were quite reasonable. I knew there would be a big dinner in the evening, but I couldn't help but buy puffs and pudding to eat. It was so sinful... After the hot spring, I ate a brown sugar pudding and was really amazed. The egg fragrance, milk fragrance, and brown sugar fragrance were distinct and integrated. It tasted better than too many so-called Michelin pudding desserts!

The food was great, I just think the baked goods need to be improved as the taste was missing something. The cakes were average but the pastries were the best, they were buttery but not too sweet and had a good balance of flavors.

It is a small shop that sells local gourmet desserts, but the quality is very good.

The puffs are baked very crispy and a little burnt. Unlike in China, they have a strong creamy taste.
