Chimoto

On the recommendation of a good local friend, we checked in at the Japanese restaurant "chimoto". We booked a private room in advance. The environment was really nice, and there were tatami seats. The tempura here is the best.

This "Chimoto" is a very popular Japanese restaurant in Hakone. Their environment is quite nice and the food is delicious. No wonder the business is so good and most of the people who come here are locals.

Hakone is very famous for its hot spring cakes, which are made like little bells. There are seasonal snacks every season, which are great as gifts for others. However, the shelf life is very short, usually about 30 days.

This fish cake shop is located in the shopping street near Hakone Yumoto Station. When I was strolling in the shopping street, I saw people queuing here, so I followed them in to see what they were selling. It turned out to be fried fish cakes of various flavors. In fact, I didn't quite understand what the flavors were. I saw Japanese locals also buy unfried ones to make at home, so I bought two kinds, one shrimp and one squid. They were both chewy and full of freshness.

This is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop. The taste is very good, highly recommended.
