Davé Ortigia

This was our fourth restaurant in Sicily so far and it was by far the best. First, the ambiance is absolutely divine: classy, quiet, and chic yet warm. The food was outstanding. We had among other things the caponata, a salad with strawberries, almonds, and arugula, the fresh pasta with courgettes flowers, a creamy type of cheese, and anchovies (fabulous), and the fresh tuna (entree) with a honey mustard sauce. My husband had a dessert consisting of a small cheesecake surrounded by fruit, which was also delicious. The service was excellent.

We had a wonderful meal ! Everything was tasty and the people were very nice to us. The beef and duck were delicious and a change of pace after so much pasta!

Fresh ingredients, well prepared. Authentic feel of the food. Overall nearly perfect. We only did not get an outside table when weather was warm (was it because we had kids or not regulars).

Fabulous restaurant. So sad we didn’t discover it until the end of our stay or we would certainly go back. Best service and by far the prettiest restaurant I’ve been to this year!!!

This was our best meal on our 2 weeks in Sicily. We had the fried calamari but ordered it as a shared appetizer. I don’t think it fits as a meal. Then my husband ordered the pasta alla norma. He said it was the best pasta he’s had on our trip. I had a pasta but can’t remember the name unfortunately and it’s hard to find the full menu online. I’ll post a picture and you should be able to find it on the menu. All the food I saw others order looked really good. The place was full inside and out. Very nice atmosphere and really good service. We shared a bottle of wine that was recommended. Delicious! Wish we would have had room for dessert but we were too full.
