Traveling to Yuanyang Terraces in Honghe, I stayed at the Huaijing Yuanyang Mountain Residence in Duoyishuxia Village. One day, I went to other villages with the owner of the homestay to go to the market, and then took him to this popular restaurant in Xinjie Town for lunch. The restaurant is quite large, the environment is decent, the dishes are relatively rich, and there are many varieties of green leafy vegetables. The signature dish of the restaurant is pig's trotters. I ordered the taro stems and the bitter melon fried eggs that I had never seen before in my life. In addition, on the recommendation of the homestay staff, I bought the only signature clear soup beef in the restaurant at the Dorazol Restaurant two doors away. It was a comfortable meal. Yuanyang's local dishes are fresh and delicious and worth trying.

I thought it was a small store, but it was quite big inside and there were private rooms. I think every dish is good, especially the small fish in the clear soup. It should be river crucian carp, which is raised in the terraced fields. It is not very big, but the soup is really natural and delicious, and there is no earthy smell.

Liujun Restaurant was recommended by the driver who chartered the bus to Yuanyang. It is next to the Xinjie Town Bus Station. It is relatively large in the local area and has good business. The private rooms need to be booked in advance. You can order dishes by looking at the menu and discuss the cooking methods with the chef. It is especially good for outsiders who are afraid of not being used to the taste, so I have eaten here several times. I really like the braised pork trotters here, which are fried first and then stewed until they are crispy and tasty. The sour and sweet taste of the tiger skin green pepper is very appetizing.

Liujun Restaurant is located next to Yixintang Pharmacy in the Terrace Square of Xinjie Town. The restaurant is run by the local Hani people. It is an authentic small restaurant with very unique local characteristics. The food tastes very, very delicious and goes well with rice. The friends who went there with us all ate their fill. In the restaurant, you can taste the authentic local Hani flavor of Yuanyang. If you are not used to spicy food, be sure to tell the waiter in advance.
