Yechun Tea House is a well-known restaurant for morning tea in Yangzhou, and Yumatou is the head office of Yechun Tea House. We had our first morning tea in Yangzhou here. We queued up to get a number and waited for two hours before finally having the meal. It tasted absolutely delicious.

We left Shanghai early in the morning, by train and car. It was already past 11 o'clock when we put down our luggage in Yangzhou. The Yechun Tea House next door was still open. We planned to visit Slender West Lake after dinner. We ordered the signature snacks: crab roe soup dumplings, steamed dumplings in soup, boiled dried shredded pork, Yangzhou fried rice, three-diced buns, etc.! The crab roe soup dumplings and steamed dumplings in soup are similar in nature, both of which are full of delicious soup. The three-diced buns are indeed not as delicious as the five-diced buns! Yangzhou fried rice is still authentic in Yangzhou, and it tastes completely different from the egg fried rice in Shanghai!

Yangzhou morning tea is famous for the three springs: Fuchun, Yechun, and Gonghechun. As a college student who has been studying in Yangzhou for more than two years, it was not until today that I had the opportunity to go to Yechun to eat Yangzhou morning tea. It is said that Yechun in Yumatoudian is the one with the best scenery and the longest history. It is located on Yanfu Road, near Geyuan, and has a better overall environment. There were not many diners on Friday morning. The first floor was a small garden for rest. There were artists playing the piano on the stage, and the audience could sit in the park to watch. The second floor is a dining place. Food can be taken away or eaten in the hall. My friend and I chose to taste it slowly in the teahouse. We ordered some Yechun steamed dumplings, buns, siomai, green Yangchun tea, honey red dates, hot dried silk, tofu pudding, etc. There is nothing particularly outstanding about the morning tea, but for tourists, Yangzhou morning tea should be tasted. After all, "skin wrapped in water in the morning, water wrapped in skin in the evening." Recommended dishes: pine nut siomai, green Yangchun tea, hot dried silk. I went there on a weekday morning, and it was still relatively empty before 8 o'clock. Their tofu pudding is very thick, and the red bean porridge is not sugared. They are all mini bowls, and the taste is good. The crab roe soup buns have shrunk in size, but there is a lot of soup, and the crab roe and crab meat are also good. The fresh meat steamed dumplings are quite large, slightly sweet, and have soup. The five-piece bun has more sea cucumber and shrimp meat than the three-piece bun, and it is indeed expensive for a reason. You can see the crab roe in the crab roe buns, but it tastes a bit greasy, but it is just right to drink tea to relieve the greasiness.

There are many people eating here, the environment is very good, you need to take a number and wait for a seat, there are a lot of seats here, there are seats on the first and second floors and by the river, but you can't choose your own seat, it's arranged according to the number called, fortunately, we wanted to be by the river, and when it was my turn, I was also arranged by the river. The price is not very expensive, and the size is bigger than expected, so the three of us ordered more, in order not to waste, we ate it all, and we were so full that we didn't feel hungry in the afternoon. After eating, it was just right to stroll to the Slender West Lake, which took about 15 minutes. I recommend the crab roe soup dumplings, the five-shaped dumplings have a lot of fat and are a bit greasy.

The taste is OK. Because we stayed at Yangzhou Hotel and the restaurant was closed, Yechun became a temporary canteen. They have takeout in the morning and evening at Qiaotou every day. It is slightly cheaper than the restaurant, but the variety is not complete. My children like to eat their Yangzhou fried rice, bean curd stuffing and mushroom and vegetable stuffing. The service is generally good or bad. If you don't ask, they won't take the initiative to answer. They answer one question after another, just like the service of Beijing's state-owned old brands, but there is no service. The highlight is the dining environment, which used to be the salt merchant's house, very beautiful.
