Avoid the Nalati Restaurant Scam For those traveling to Xinjiang's Nalati region, this restaurant doesn't live up to its reputation. The food is of extremely poor quality and it's a scam. Beware! The menu pictures look great, but the dishes served are completely different. I ordered a medium-sized large plate chicken, tomato egg drop soup, and garlic lettuce. The lettuce was lukewarm and barely edible. The large plate chicken came with 10 chicken necks, but the chicken pieces were lukewarm, and some of the potatoes were cold and undercooked. The dish was overly spiced and tasted nothing like traditional large plate chicken. I left half of it uneaten. The tomato egg drop soup consisted of only a few thin slices of tomato, a few slices of greens, two egg drops, and a large bowl of water. After complaining, they took it back to the kitchen, added a little ketchup, and served it. I thought I'd just make do with it, but after taking a bite, it tasted like pot water! I reported this to the waiter, who said the menu pictures were downloaded from the internet and not actual photos of the dishes. The service was perfunctory. Before I could finish, they kept interrupting me, saying they'd accept my suggestions while walking away with the soup, saying they'd cancel it if it didn't suit my taste. The final portion consisted of a small plate of vegetables for 30 yuan, and a medium-sized chicken dish with 10 chicken necks for 122 yuan. The total bill was 152 yuan. When paying at the counter, I complained about the excessive number of chicken necks, but was told the pictures were from the internet. They made a bunch of excuses and offered a 12 yuan discount, but I still paid the full price. This place, under the guise of traditional Xinjiang cuisine, deceives tourists and claims to be a restaurant with over 20 years of history. The food is dishonest and the prices are inflated, which is why so many tourists avoid eating at restaurants when traveling! Taste: Terrible! Environment: Both the storefront and the restaurant are acceptable. Service: Perfunctory, with absolutely no service at all.
