Zouji Chicken Tangyuan&#39;s history dates back to the late Qing Dynasty. Founder Zou Yongfu fled famine in Xingyi. His daughter-in-law, Pan Tingfen, accidentally created the meat tangyuan using leftover stewed meat and glutinous rice dough. Later, she refined the recipe to use chicken as the main ingredient, adding sesame, peanut butter, and chopped green onions. From then on, the reputation of &quot;Zouji Chicken Tangyuan&quot; spread. Today, the Zouji Chicken Tangyuan has been passed down to the fifth-generation inheritor, Xu Minchang. In 2018, it was included in the fifth batch of Qianxinan Prefecture&#39;s Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
