1️⃣🏠 Yuebei Restaurant, No. 1 Baihua Road, Wanxiu District (next to the main entrance of the Ming Dynasty Guangdong-Guangxi Governor's Mansion Cultural Tourism Expo Area) ① Paper-wrapped Chicken: A must-try dish in Wuzhou, minimum order of two servings. However, theirs is a bit dry and slightly sweet. ② Taro and Lychee Duck: Duck meat wrapped in a generous amount of taro paste, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served with condensed milk, it has a unique flavor, but it can be a bit dry if you eat too much. ③ Yuebei Scallion Oil Fish: The fish skin is very crispy, but the fish meat inside is incredibly tender! Dipping it in the scallion oil broth at the bottom of the bowl brings out the natural sweetness of the fish. ④ Five-Willow Fried Egg: A classic Cantonese dish, its sweet and sour taste is very appetizing and goes well with rice. 2️⃣🏠Deyi Food Scallion Oil Wuhu Fish: Despite its light color, every bite of fish is incredibly flavorful. The skin is fried to a perfect crisp. The fish is about the length of two palms, and the portion is very generous. Wet Stir-fried Beef Ho Fun (with a sour sauce): It's different from what you usually eat! Sweet and sour stir-fried beef ho fun is a rare find! A must-try for those who like sweet flavors! Scallion Oil Fried Chicken: The fried skin is very fragrant. 3️⃣🏠Qiaotou Restaurant Located under Xijiang Bridge, Group 7, Zhuwan Village, Changzhou Town, Changzhou District Pickled Cabbage and Beef: Sour, spicy, fresh, and fragrant! 🔥 High heat and quick cooking, full of wok hei (wok aroma)! The beef slices are glistening with oil, tender and chewy! The pickled cabbage is crisp and refreshing, coated in the hot wok hei, sizzling loudly! Absolutely delicious with rice! 🍚The only slight drawback is that it's a bit salty. 🥙Stir-fried Bamboo Shoots with Roasted Pork Belly This dish features my favorite perilla leaves, which instantly enhance the flavor! 💥 The roasted pork belly skin is so crispy it makes a "crunch" sound, and the fatty parts sizzle with oil—incredibly fragrant! The tender bamboo shoots soak up the meat juices, making them sweet, crisp, and refreshing—a perfect balance! 🍖Taro and Pork Ribs Baked The taro is deep-fried, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, giving the dish a slightly sweet flavor. 💨 The pork ribs are very tender and taste quite fresh. 4️⃣🏠Super Special Beef Rib Rice Noodles 🍜Wuzhou's rice noodles are truly exceptional—thin and smooth. Personally, I felt the stewed beef brisket was easier to chew than the beef ribs 🥩, as the beef ribs were a bit chewy. The broth was rich but not salty, with plenty of perilla leaves but not much chili 🌶️, because it felt like this kind of chili wouldn't be spicy no matter how much you added. 5️⃣🏠 Qingji BBQ Restaurant, Mahuang Street 50 meters north of the intersection of Dongzhong Road and Nanhu Road 【First Warning】 The beef was a little tough. 【Second Recommendation】 The eggplant was super fragrant and not oily. The pork belly wasn't dry or greasy. We ordered another skewer of pork belly without sweetness, which was just average. Their sweet sauce is truly amazing. The enoki mushrooms, chives, and cabbage were incredibly fragrant when grilled. The ribs were very fragrant, highly recommended! The whole chicken wings and chicken mid-wings were both delicious. I personally think the whole chicken wings were better—crispy skin, tender meat, juicy and not greasy. The grilled peppers were also very fragrant, and the presentation was artistic. The chicken cartilage was really crunchy and had a great texture. 6️⃣🏠 Aunt Huang's Sour Beef Intestine The broth was a unique sour and spicy flavor. The beef intestine is a must-order! One bite and it bursts with flavor, rich but not greasy, and incredibly fragrant. The price is also very reasonable. 7️⃣🏠Jieji Dessert Soup No. 30, Dieshan 2nd Road, near Pantang Park 1️⃣ Coconut Milk Taro Sago Pudding: The taro is cooked until very soft, with large chunks and a very smooth texture. Combined with the sago and sweet coconut milk, the taste is fantastic! 👍 2️⃣ Lotus Seed Red Bean Soup: The red beans are cooked until very soft and mushy, with a slightly sandy texture. One bite is sweet with a cool sensation. 3️⃣ Tofu Skin Dessert Soup: I was a little surprised when I first tried it; I didn't expect tofu skin to be used in dessert. It tasted pretty good, but I didn't really like the flavor. 4️⃣ Sesame Paste: Smooth and thick sesame paste, pure black with no additives, packed with nutrients. 8️⃣🏠Xingxing Snails: The snails are exceptionally large, with a firm and bouncy texture! The spicy flavor is addictive! Smaller river snails absorb the flavor better; both are delicious. Radishes are 4 yuan a serving, cooked until soft and tender, with a hint of sweetness amidst the spiciness. Tofu puffs (large tofu puffs) are 5 yuan, and dried bean curd sticks are 6 yuan. These two are the most flavorful, soaking up the broth completely, and bursting with juice in your mouth!! Highly recommended! The broth tastes very similar to that of snail rice noodles, fragrant and spicy—a must-try for snail rice noodle lovers!
