📖📖 Itinerary
Day 1: Binjiang Steamed Food Restaurant → Xishi's Hometown → Huashentang B&B → Genjian Cold Drinks and Fried Food
We drove to a steamed food restaurant at 11:00 AM to try Zhuji's specialties again. We had originally planned to go to Lingyan Steamed Food Restaurant (Jiangdong Road), but unfortunately, they were closed during the Lunar New Year holiday. So, we opted for Binjiang Steamed Food Restaurant, which is close to Xishi's Hometown. We ordered our favorites, steamed meat patties, snails, Western-style tofu, and steamed three fresh delicacies. After comparing them, I finally understood why Yanling Steamed Food Restaurant ranked first. There are so many steamed food restaurants along Lao Wanshou Street.
After lunch, we walked to the main entrance of Xishi's Hometown, about 200 meters away. We strolled along the Huansha River and visited the Fan Li Temple. We departed for Wuyi at 1:00 PM to visit the Wuyi Tangfeng Hot Spring Resort. The main attraction of this trip was the hot springs. We booked the Huashentang B&B in the Tangfeng Resort. One bedroom, one courtyard, two bedrooms, one courtyard—they really offer privacy, and the hot springs are accessible 24/7. Room two also has a mahjong table, perfect for a family game. After a short rest, we headed out.
Dinner at Jinhu Center was a shopping mall! We chose the perfect Little Reunion, a Jiangsu-Zhejiang fusion cuisine. Every dish was delicious.
After dinner, we returned to the B&B. A reminder: be sure to drain the hot spring water before leaving. It needs to cool down first, otherwise it'll be too hot and burn the pig skin. After a relaxing soak in the hot springs, everyone gathered around, drinking tea, chatting, and playing mahjong. It was a relaxing and cozy experience.
After chatting late into the night, we felt hungry, so we went for a late-night snack. We ordered almost everything on the menu at Genjian Cold Drinks and Fried Chicken. Our bill totaled 230 yuan. Honestly, the fried chicken was a bit pricey, but the taste was good.
Day 2: Xie's Wontons (Dongsheng Middle Road Branch)
Woke up early and had breakfast at the hotel buffet. After another hot spring soak, I checked out before noon and went to Xie's Wonton Restaurant. I ordered the signature tofu balls, taro dumplings, small wontons, fried wontons, and brown sugar steamed cakes. The brown sugar steamed cake was a disappointment, but the rest was delicious! Afterwards, we headed home to celebrate the New Year!
