Master Kun's Pinxiang Garden is located in an old house. There is a big tree in the yard🌳. I came here because of its reputation. The taste of state banquets is affordable. Master Kun, who has been on CCTV, is well-known in the local area. I was lucky to meet Master Kun, a kind old man. He kindly asked each table of diners whether they liked the taste and had a good chat, and he would give them a dish. The spicy and sour tendons in the fermented spicy sauce are super delicious and go well with rice. It tastes very good. You can't get the taste anywhere else. 🏯 Day 1: Strolling in the ancient city and traveling through the Nanzhao time Morning: Weishan Ancient City 💡Opening information: Free and open all day. ⚠️Tour highlights: Gongchen Tower (ticket ¥2): Ming Dynasty tower, you can overlook the panoramic view of the ancient city from the top, and the plaque "Kuixiong Liuzhao" tells the story of Nanzhao's hegemony. Xinggong Tower (free, open from 08:00 to 17:00): The landmark in the center of the ancient city, four plaques depict the four seasons of Weishan. Nanzhao Museum: Free to visit, display Nanzhao national relics, learn about the origin of the Yi people (recommended to stay for 1 hour). Personal experience: In the early morning, the stone road was glimmering, and local elders sat in the teahouse smoking hookah, as if time had stopped in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The store is simple, ¥15/bowl, and most of the diners are locals. Afternoon: Confucian Temple and Tie-Dye Experience Confucian Temple (free): Red walls and ginkgo, the Ming and Qing architectural pattern is well preserved, suitable for ancient style photography. Woodcarving Jiama Studio: Make Bai ethnic minority intangible cultural heritage prints by hand (¥30/person), the master will teach you step by step, and you can take the works away as a souvenir. Dinner: Nanzhao Hutong Night Market 🍽️ Roasted milk fan has a rich milky aroma, green bean cake is sweet, and rice cracker jelly is sour and spicy and appetizing. The night market is full of fireworks, and you can eat a lot at ¥30 per person. 🏨 Overnight recommendation: Weishan Huajiantang Inn Experience: Hidden in the deep alleys of the ancient city, there are only 9 rooms, and the courtyard is full of green plants and rattan tea seats. You can savor the journey in a drunken state (reservation is required in advance). 🚄Transportation: Take the high-speed train from Dali Station to Weishan for 22 minutes (¥15), or charter a car for 1 hour (¥200). 👔Outfit: The stone slabs in the ancient city are slippery, so wear non-slip shoes; the temperature difference in Zhuomulang Village is large, so prepare a thin coat. Master Kun is in Weishan Ancient City, the old capital of Nanzhao in the south of Dali. Dali is very popular, but Weishan is quiet and indifferent, so Master Kun's reputation is only passed on by word of mouth. ​Housuo Street is located in the center of Weishan Ancient City. On this street, there are breakfast shops that I like and good restaurants. Master Kun is a good choice for dinner in Weishan. ​The main entrance is a rare double-sided door. On the right door hangs a red lacquer sign with "Master Kun". It is simple and easy to remember the founding date, 1999, an unforgettable year. ​Inside is a common courtyard in Bai ethnic minority houses. Big red lanterns are hung high. The 160-year-old dragon cypress covers most of the yard, which should be the finishing touch. ​At the backyard ordering area, the owner Yang Kunhua is busy. The name of the restaurant is derived from his own name. Master Kun is very kind and will patiently recommend it to you personally. When talking about his specialty dishes, his eyebrows are full of pride. ​There is a reason for this. Master Kun started from the common people and was self-taught, but he was very good. After 8 years of trying, he restored a court dish invented by the royal chef of Nanzhao King more than 1,300 years ago - scorched liver with nectarine kernels. ​With this dish, Master Kun won the Yunnan Province Catering Industry Reform and Opening-up 40 Years Inheritance Skills Contribution Award. His Master Kun Restaurant has also become a famous Yunnan specialty food restaurant. Pork liver is really not my dish, so I ordered another famous dish created by Master Kun, "Spicy Pork Ribs in Wine". The so-called pork ribs are actually the tendons attached to the pork loin. The pork ribs of a pig can only be used to make this dish. Do you think it's amazing? ​Many people call this dish "chopped pepper pork ribs", and only see the red chopped peppers on the surface. Little do they know that according to its full name "sour and spicy pork ribs in wine", the importance of wine is even greater than the peppers. The wine blends the spiciness of the peppers and enhances the fragrance. The pork ribs are fresh, sour and spicy, and chewy, making people unable to stop eating with chopsticks. ​Flavored eggplant cubes are also a dish that Master Kun highly recommends. This is a dish that he admits he can't cook well at home, because the trick lies in the strong fire, which can make the eggplant cubes light and crispy, melt in the mouth, and the equally crispy coriander adds a lot of color. ​Fragrant beef is ordered by Master Kun for the children. It is similar to our usual braised beef. The selected materials are excellent, the texture is clear, the slices are thin, and the original flavor is refreshing and delicious. If it is dipped in Yunnan chili powder, it becomes the favorite of adults. ​Finally, the accompanying soup was also drunk up. This kind of soup is also a feature of Yunnan. It is sweet and smooth. I see everything friendly and every place is an old connection. I am like a baby who has been reincarnated and returned to repay his gratitude. I can recognize the new and the old in my clever and sensible way. The waves flow straight down without a thousand miles, and the bright moon is never two places apart. What is important is not where you were born, but where you are given the confidence and enthusiasm for life. In Shuanglang and Weishan, and perhaps Shaxi, you can spend the rest of your life there.
