The owner of the guesthouse drove us to Village Cafe in his little electric car&mdash;the one run by the owner of the unattended shop on South Street. The car wound its way up the hillside; the shop is halfway up the mountain, in a very rustic setting. The decor is a bit rough, but it&#39;s definitely a quiet place. They also have a few guest rooms, and the rent isn&#39;t expensive. It&#39;s just that staying here without a car is quite inconvenient. It&#39;s a nice place to come for coffee and sunshine.

It seems impossible to find restaurants in Weishan that closely resemble the cuisine of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. I&#39;m really not used to Yunnan&#39;s &quot;food&quot; and feel lost about what to eat. I found this restaurant online, run by a couple from Guangdong, that serves stewed longan, red dates, and peach gum. It&#39;s located on North Street, and the sweetness was just right, with a Hong Kong style flavor. One serving wasn&#39;t enough! The owner&#39;s hairstyle is very unique; online reviews unanimously describe it as having an ethereal, otherworldly air. During our chat, I learned they were from Shaoguan, so we talked about the river views there. Later, I learned they&#39;d been running a shop in Dali for many years, but came to Weishan seeking peace and quiet, and even live on Weibaoshan Mountain. No wonder the shop is named &quot;Yidao Xiaoguan&quot; (meaning &quot;A Little Restaurant&quot;) and he has that hairstyle&mdash;interesting!

PS: Weibaoshan Mountain is about 10 kilometers from the ancient city. It&#39;s a famous Taoist mountain with many sights to see. Since it involves hiking, I&#39;m debating whether to go or not.

Near Nanzhao Cultural Square, parking is very convenient. The sign is also eye-catching.

Located in a small alley on Housuo Street, it is open five hours a day, from 7am to 12pm. It once won the Shanghai World Guinness Record for &quot;the longest noodle in China&quot;. A small bowl costs 10 yuan, a large bowl costs 12 yuan, and you can also choose dry noodles. The taste is oily but not heavy. The toppings are fried meat and bamboo shoots, paired with chewy noodles, and some chives and chopped green onions. A hot bowl is very satisfying.

Lao Er Restaurant is located in an old house and is also one of the old houses in the ancient city. The owner did not create a very exquisite environment, but put a few low tables in the yard and a round table in the house, which became a so-called restaurant. The environment is not very good, but the taste is definitely worthy of a thumbs-up, and the amount of dishes will be adjusted according to the number of people, so there is no need to worry about waste even if you eat alone.

Lao Wang Guo Jiang Bai Si has rich ingredients and interesting ways to eat. Put the clear water Bai Si into the prepared seasoning bowl and eat it, and then add side dishes. The noodles are fragrant and not greasy. What I like most is their kimchi, which suits my appetite very well.
