Taizhou is truly a foodie paradise. I woke up early and started my foodie journey! This time, I stayed in Jiaojiang District and checked out four time-honored breakfast shops near the commercial street. Even locals flocked there; they were delicious and affordable! 1⃣️ Wenling Specialty Embedded Cake (Kaiyuan Branch) A giant in the breakfast industry, countless Wenling people have been enjoying this dish since childhood. It's made with rice cake wrapped around various delicacies. What intrigued me the most was the inclusion of pickled vegetable noodles (they also have this in their rice cake rolls)! You can add any toppings you want; I added meat. One roll costs 11 yuan! It's a truly enormous roll! And the wrapping is beautifully done, with the seam shaped like a pigtail! The glutinous rice makes it even softer and more chewy. It truly is a sticky city! Pour the minced meat soup over the rice for a savory and delicious flavor! 📍Address: No. 95 Kaiyuan Road 3⃣️ Weiyi Large Intestine Cake (Commercial Street Branch) As the name suggests, large intestine and rice cake are the main ingredients! You can customize the toppings to suit your budget! This long-established shop makes excellent large intestines—not fishy, chewy, and perfectly prepared! The rice cake is also soft and delicious! 📍Address: No. 154-156 Jingzhong Road 4⃣️ Temple Street Sansao Ginger Soup Noodles (Commercial Street Branch) A bowl of piping hot ginger soup noodles is a must when you come to Taizhou; it's so warming! The basic ginger soup noodles are 23 yuan a bowl, and they're huge. I was stunned when they arrived! The rice noodles are actually rice vermicelli, which is quite chewy.
