The legend of the three sisters of Guanyin Bodhisattva has always fascinated me. Lingquan Temple and Guangde Temple are both in Suining, so I booked a date in August and headed straight to Suining. This time, I visited Guangde Temple, the place where the second sister practiced. I recommend arriving early in the morning and ascending the bluestone steps. The ancient red temple walls contrast beautifully with the verdant pines and cypresses. Be sure to see precious cultural relics like the Ming Dynasty Imperial Edict Archway and the Song Dynasty Relic Pagoda... Within the temple, amidst the lingering incense smoke, you can experience a transcendental tranquility. During Buddhist festivals, you can also participate in chanting ceremonies and immerse yourself in Buddhist culture. It truly calmed my heart and brought me peace. In the afternoon, I checked into Suining's first Marriott Hotel, located on Shenglian Island on the shores of Guanyin Lake. The building blooms like a lotus flower on the azure waters. Our room offered panoramic views of the winding Fu River and the city lights. Breakfast offers both Chinese and Western options, with a wide selection. Don't miss the signature handmade steamed buns.
