No. 2 of Restaurants for Views & Experiences in HuangshanReason:This antique restaurant, with the ambiance of a traditional inn, serves authentic Huizhou cuisine that will dazzle your palate
I was so lucky to be driven away by the so-called Internet celebrity restaurant Longfeng Hui Cuisine Restaurant (I wrote a bad review for it, and it seems it failed the review), and then I found this restaurant with a better environment and better taste, especially the stinky mandarin fish, braised spare ribs, fresh bamboo shoots and bacon, which are all very authentic. The homemade bayberry wine is not bad, too.
The hotel has good features, next to the ancient city wall of Huizhou, with an ancient atmosphere. The stinky mandarin fish and hairy tofu are both worth tasting, and the per capita consumption is not expensive. I ordered a stinky mandarin fish dry pot for 128, but there was no price on the sign. The stinky mandarin fish next to it was 98. The sign is unclear, which makes people suspect of misleading. Although it is 30 yuan more expensive, it makes people feel uncomfortable. I hope the store can understand consumption.
A good Anhui cuisine restaurant in the scenic area, the consumption level is not high, and the price-performance ratio is acceptable!
Who in my family understands! I rushed to Huangshan during National Day with 2,000 yuan in my pocket, expecting to be packed like sardines. But thanks to this guide, I was able to take some fantastical photos and even enjoy a bowl of Huangshan specialty noodles for just 15 yuan. 🍜 This "National Day Huangshan Survival Guide," requested by over 50 netizens, will teach you step-by-step how to avoid 90% of the pitfalls! 💰[National Day Budget Breakdown] 2,000 yuan = a 3-day, 2-night paradise trip ▪️ Accommodation: 600 yuan (200 yuan/night for a B&B down the mountain, half the price of up on the mountain!) ▪️ Transportation: 340 yuan (280 yuan round-trip high-speed rail + 30 yuan for a scenic area bus + 80 yuan one-way cable car) ▪️ Tickets: 190 yuan (buy in advance on the Huangshan Tourism Official Platform; prices won't increase during National Day, but be sure to grab them!) ▪️ Food: 570 yuan (190 yuan per day, avoid the sky-high prices at the scenic area; restaurants recommended by locals are amazing) 💡 Tip: Don't stay up on the mountain during National Day! Even with a 3x premium, you can't get a spot. A B&B down the mountain and an early departure are the best options. 🚗[Transportation] Don't be fooled! National Day travel tips Don't get scammed by "illegal taxis" after exiting the high-speed rail station! Head straight to the Huangshan North Station Tourist Distribution Center. A 30-yuan bus ride takes you directly to the scenic area's South Gate, a one-hour drive with plenty of time for some sleep. 💤 Within the scenic area, you must take a sightseeing bus, which costs 20 yuan per person and takes you directly to the cable car entrance. The walk takes two hours, and the crowds during National Day are simply unbearable! For the cable car, we recommend "sitting on the way up and walking on the way down." Arrive at the cable car entrance before 7 AM, so the line should be no more than 30 minutes. Descend along the Yungu Temple Trail for scenic views and a safer route than the crowds. If you want to save on cable car fares, remember to wear comfortable sneakers, or your legs will shake like sewing machines. 🤣 🏡 [Accommodation] Spend your money wisely! National Day Accommodation Guide ✅ Tangkou Town is your top choice: closest to the South Gate. We recommend the Huangshan Family B&B, 200 yuan per night with breakfast. The owner can also help you book tickets and the cable car, making it 10 times faster than booking on your own! ✅ Second Choice: Hongcun: If you want to explore the ancient village, stay here. For 150 yuan per person, you can stay in a small Hui-style courtyard. Watching the lanterns at night is incredibly atmospheric, but be sure to leave an hour early for the scenic area. ❌ Warning: Don't believe "cheap rooms on the mountain"! During the National Day holiday, a standard room on the mountain will cost at least 800 yuan, and you might even find yourself in a bunk bed. A night there can be incredibly frustrating. 🗺️ [3-Day Highlights] An Uncrowded and Photogenic National Day Trip! Day 1: Classic Route "Top of the Mountain" 7:30 AM Take the Yuping Cable Car up the mountain, heading straight for the Welcoming Pine (avoid the crowds here! Take a side shot first; it'll be less crowded and make your face look smaller 📸) 10:00 AM Climb Tiandu Peak (Open during the National Day holiday! But make reservations in advance. The steps are incredibly steep, so beware if you're afraid of heights.) 12:30 PM Eat at the observation deck next to the Yuping Tower Restaurant. Bring your own self-heating rice and fruit; it's much more delicious than the 68 yuan boxed lunch at the scenic area! 3:00 PM: Walk along the Lotus Peak Trail to capture the "sea of clouds and unique pines" combination. The sun shines best around 3:00 PM, and the photos are 100% accurate. 6:00 PM: Descend the mountain back to Tangkou. In the evening, visit Tangkou Old Street and snack on a bag of Huangshan sesame cakes (10 yuan each). Day 2: In-depth tour of the wonderland. 8:00 AM: Take the Yungu Cableway up the mountain, heading straight to Shixin Peak (less crowded during National Day! Photographing the intertwined pines is super romantic, a must-do for couples). 11:00 AM: Visit the "Dream Brush Flowing" at the Beihai Scenic Area. Find a rock to sit and wait for the sea of clouds. If you're lucky, you might see the "Buddha's Light." 1:30 PM: Explore the Xihai Grand Canyon. The "first ring" is sufficient for stunning views and less tiring. The "second ring" is crowded and prone to traffic. 5:00 PM: Head to Guangmingding (Guangmingding Peak) to wait for sunset. Get a spot an hour in advance and snap photos of the golden sunset on your phone. You'll get over 100 likes on your social media feed! Day 3: Finishing the Ancient Village 9:00 AM: Depart for Hongcun (94 yuan admission, half price for students!). Join your guide to explore Yuezhao (Moon Pond) and Nanhu (South Lake), and take photos of the Hui-style architecture. 12:00 PM: Enjoy the stinky mandarin fish at Hongcun Renjia (38 yuan per portion). It smells stinky but tastes delicious, and pairs well with rice for two bowls. 2:00 PM: Visit the Hongcun Handicraft Shop and buy a bamboo comb for 20 yuan each as a souvenir—worth the exorbitant prices at the scenic area. 4:00 PM: Return, a perfect end to your Huangshan trip. 🍜 [Food Tip] Avoid the "expensive meals" during National Day! Local Recommendations ▪️ Must-Try: Huangshan Braised Pigeon at the Old Street Local Cuisine Restaurant in Tangkou, 48 yuan per portion – the broth is so delicious you'll want to lick the bowl; Mao Tofu at Deyue Tower in Hongcun, 25 yuan per portion – the chili dip is incredibly fragrant. ▪️ Snacks: Huangshan Shaobing (small pancakes) for 10 yuan per bag (the pickled mustard greens flavor is best), Huangshan Maofeng Tea for 5 yuan per cup – both thirst-quenching and refreshing. ▪️ Avoid: Avoid the "expensive noodles" within the scenic area! At 68 yuan a bowl, they're tasteless. Bring your own food or eat at a restaurant down the mountain. ▪️ Hidden Gem: Huizhou Wontons at Auntie's Breakfast Shop in Tangkou, 8 yuan per bowl – thin wrappers and generous fillings. They open at 6 a.m. – a good start to the mountain hike. ⚠️ [National Day Avoidance Guide] Lessons Learned the Hard Way! 1. Don't wear white clothes! The winds are strong on the mountain, and pine sap can't be washed off. Dark sportswear is best. 2. Check the weather in advance! Huangshan is foggy during National Day, so bring a windbreaker and a raincoat. Don't buy those 10-yuan disposable ones at the scenic area; they're poor quality and leak. 3. Don't pack too much! A heavy backpack will make hiking tiring. Just bring your phone, power bank, snacks, and water; drinking water is available at the scenic area. 4. Don't go with "unofficial guides"! Those who charge 50 yuan per person will take you on dangerous trails and force you to shop. Official guides, 150 yuan per day, are super reliable. 5. Make reservations in advance! The cable car, Tiandu Peak, and Lianhua Peak all require advance reservations through the official platform. Without reservations during National Day, you won't be able to enter. Final budget: 3 days and 2 nights cost a total of 1,900 yuan, leaving 100 yuan for souvenirs. 🎁 Although Huangshan was crowded during National Day, seeing the sea of clouds and sunset was worth it!
