When you come to Shandong, you must have a special barbecue, small pancakes wrapped with meat, awesome [cover face]
I didn't expect that a complaint I couldn't help but post last night would go viral and attract a lot of sisters, and most of them were in unanimous agreement! I've been asked for recommendations the most, and since I can't reply to them all individually, I decided to write a detailed article. Just to be clear, I'm not being paid for this, and it's all just my own sharing. But I have to be honest. As a local near the coast, although I eat out a lot, I rarely eat seafood. My father is a fisherman, and I grew up by the sea, so seafood is always available at home. We're used to stocking up when the sea opens, so locals living near the coast rarely go out for seafood. We do go to some specialty restaurants for family gatherings. The most common questions in my previous article were where to go fishing and where to eat seafood. I came up with a few tips. First, choose where to stay. The Wanpingkou Lighthouse everyone asked about is in the same area, and it's also easily accessible to the city. If you live in either area, I recommend eating at Shijiu. For example, Haibin 5th Road, which I frequent, has restaurants like Lao Ba Jian (Northeastern Chinese cuisine), Xin Pai (Sichuan cuisine), Ming Jia Korean Restaurant (the portions are quite large, but there are a lot of Koreans there, and they get really noisy chatting), Jin Huan Xiao Hai Seafood (special seafood), and Niu Lao Er Seafood BBQ (I think it's a bit pricey, but it's delicious). The owner goes to the dock every day to pick seafood. Jinyu BBQ (the owner is very relaxed; he's open more often than he's off. It's recommended to call and ask before you go to avoid disappointment.) Also, along Haina Street, there's a small night market, but the food is pretty much the same, with no unique flavors. Dongyi Town offers a nice environment for accommodation, close to Ocean Park and the beach. If you're staying in this area, I recommend eating at the University Town Night Market or shopping malls like MixC Wanda Plaza. The snack bars in the town are a bit pricey, so you can try a few favorites you haven't tried before. For a more affordable option, the University Town Night Market is the best choice, as it's located in the heart of the university, so driving isn't recommended. There are tons of delicious restaurants along the streets surrounding the night market, so you should definitely check them out. The restaurants in MixC Plaza are all authentic, with a strict selection, mostly chain stores. Check the floor information when you visit. The outer streets are also a street full of food, drinks, and entertainment. Heading north from Dongyi Town is the Fisherman's House! Several of my friends from the village of Wujiatai have their own home-cooked restaurants. Their advantages are that they're cheaper than hotels and are close to the sea. When you stay at the restaurant, the host prepares your meals, making them authentic. They also guide you through the process of trawling the sea. The downside is that they're far from the city. Public transportation is scarce, and the service is time-consuming. A taxi can cost 20 or 30 yuan. There are pros and cons. That's all I can think of for now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.
