Having a foodie best friend is all about eating in every city you visit! This Rizhao food guide is a must-have! In Rizhao, besides sightseeing, it's all about eating and drinking! The best part is, the total cost for two days was only ¥50.9 per person – a complete package of delicious food and fun activities! I've compiled a list of some shops so you won't have to wait in line in autumn or winter! 🍴Hidden Gems 📍 You're So Pretty Bar 💵Average Price: ¥10 ✅Must-Try: My best friend and I went to a little bar in Rizhao this time. We ordered sukiyaki, yakitori, braised pork ribs, mashed potato salad, and wontons – they were all so delicious! We also ordered fermented rice wine 🍺 – there were many craft beers, and they looked great in photos. My best friend and I were completely captivated by the atmosphere of this place!!! 📍 JiaYao Bread 💵Average Price: ¥25 ✅Must-Try: This place is really delicious! My favorite bread used to be from Hongpaoche, but this one tastes even better. I personally feel that baguettes and chapatitas require skill to make, but theirs were all very good. We even packed a lot to go. 📍 Chocolate Fisherman's Bread 💵Average Price: ¥45 ✅Must-Try: This is a popular spot among locals, mainly serving seafood. For seafood, I ordered sea cucumber rice, mixed fish potstickers, braised octopus noodles, garlic oysters, and sea cucumber rice. It tastes just like the home-style seafood in Rizhao. 📍 Kuanpozi - Seafood Potstickers 💵Average Price: ¥12 ✅Must-Try: Their potstickers are very good, and the wood-fired tofu pancakes are even more surprisingly delicious. This place is known for its high cost-performance ratio. We left the hotel at 4 pm hoping to go to the beach early to watch the sunrise, but we missed it due to traffic. Then we went to this restaurant. 📍 Shu Xiang San Jue 💵Average Price: ¥45 ✅Must-Order: This is truly a blessing for durian lovers! Shu Xiang San Jue now offers a durian buffet for only ¥59.9! Although it's frozen, the staff thawed it beforehand, making it refreshingly cool, like ice cream. The durian seeds are super small. We also ordered the double-pepper chicken, which was spicy and numbing, and very delicious with rice. (For Sichuan locals, if you cry from the spiciness, you get a free meal!) 📍 Coffee & Sea 💵Average Price: ¥35 ✅Must-Order: Finally went to "Coffee & Sea," a place I'd wanted to visit for so long! I'd often passed by it when I came to Rizhao before, but never gone in, haha. This time, my best friend and I had to check it out! Sitting on a bench, drinking coffee, feeling the breeze, and looking at the sea outside the window was so relaxing. The restaurant is great for taking photos; both the first and second floors are nice. The last picture is of a waiter closing the window, haha, it's hilarious! 📍 Mulan Restaurant 💵Average Price: ¥70 ✅Must-Try: Pizza 🍕 Freshly baked, the cheese stick pizza is rich and creamy, and the pasta isn't too sweet at all! The steak 🥩 and drinks are also excellent! You absolutely must try the cheese and durian head pizza – the durian pizza with its bursting cheese filling! It's incredibly stretchy! The sea urchin dumplings are also amazing, thin skin, overflowing with juicy filling—a must-try for Rizhao seafood! ✨Kuanpozi Seafood Potstickers🥟: A hidden gem specializing in seafood potstickers, the fillings are incredibly generous, bursting with juicy goodness with every bite. The mackerel and shrimp fillings are a no-brainer; the bottoms are pan-fried until golden brown and crispy, and with vinegar, they're so delicious you can't stop eating them! ✨Coffee & Sea☕: A healing seaside coffee shop, enjoying coffee while feeling the sea breeze is so relaxing. The signature sea salt latte is perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, and paired with a small cake, it's a photogenic gem! ✨Old Town Fried Skewers Shop🌶️: A charming little shop tucked away in an alley, their fried skewers are coated in a secret sweet and spicy sauce, incredibly flavorful. The signature fried pork tenderloin is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the fried eggplant soaks up all the sauce—perfect with an ice-cold soda! ✨Malu Yazi Beef Noodles🍜: Handmade noodles that are chewy and smooth, and the beef, air-shipped from Gansu, becomes more fragrant with every chew. The chili is fragrant but not too spicy, and the complimentary sweet fermented rice helps cut through the richness. A bowl of this is warming and satisfying! ✨Old Sichuan Private Kitchen🌶️: A long-established home-style stir-fry restaurant. The people of Rizhao are so lucky! 🥺 Seafood 🦞 isn't expensive! Not too crowded even in the off-season! So many delicious things to eat! I'll definitely go again! ♦️ Zhuangyuan Rice Noodles A very popular shop near the school! I figured the food on campus street couldn't be bad, so I went! They also have duck parts! Duck necks, gizzards, and chicken feet are all pretty good! The rice noodles are best with chili! ♦️ Kuanpozi - Seafood Potstickers As someone who loves potstickers, I just can't resist seafood-filled potstickers! A good option for breakfast! They also have sea urchin and squid fillings! ♦️ Coffee & Sea Although I knew it was a popular spot, I was still drawn in by the view of the sea from the deck chairs! What you order isn't important! The view is definitely worth it! They have coffee and desserts! Order according to your preference! ♦️ Shi Xiaohua Yogurt It's a bit like fried yogurt! Mini and cute! Eating too much warm food in winter! Suddenly, this small serving of iced dessert is so refreshing! I love it! Sweet and sour! ♦️Sangma This is the place I chose for my pretty meal! The environment and dishes are typical of pretty meals! No worries there! The colors are vibrant! The portions are quite large, and the taste is pretty good, very healthy! ♦️Qiaotou Ribs Qiaotou pork strips + ribs are a no-brainer! Eat them right after frying, except they're piping hot! The texture is perfect! Crispy and flavorful! Add some chili powder and you could easily order two servings! ♦️Xi Niu Yogurt I prefer the drier yogurt here! My friend and I both think it's delicious! Although it's dry yogurt, it's not too dry! It looks great too! The color scheme is a bit like Lazy Sheep! You can even choose your own sweetness level! ♦️Coowii A fairly ordinary coffee shop! But the interior decoration is quite nice! Vienna + Sea Salt Cheese Latte are both good! The texture is quite smooth! It feels like a community coffee shop ☕️ ♦️Chocolate Fisherman's House This place seems quite popular! The ingredients are freshly caught and cooked to order! I've taken the kids to Rizhao countless times! This seaside town always brings new surprises – less crowded, beautiful scenery, super easy to manage with kids, and most importantly, kids can run around freely and take amazing photos! 🥳 🗺️Travel Tips 1️⃣ Ruyi Bridge is a must-see! It hangs like a purple ribbon through the forest 🌲, and it's super close to Kaiyuan Senbo Resort Park – just a 3-minute walk to the soft sandy beach to play in the sea 🌊 2️⃣ We found the treehouse from Miyazaki's anime! It looks like a giant bird's nest in the forest 🪹, the kids screamed when they saw it, and it's perfect for taking great photos. 3️⃣ The route from Gate 3 to Gate 2 at Wanpingkou is the golden line for photos! Sky Mirror, swings, thatched cottages 🛖 – the kids had a blast at all the photo opportunities along the way! 4️⃣ After a long day of fun, head to "Coffee and Sea" ☕ at Gate 2 of Wanpingkou. Enjoy drinks and sea views from the floor-to-ceiling windows – a peaceful retreat for the kids. 5️⃣ Shanhaitian Sunshine Coast Scenic Area is perfect for families! Love on the beach, coconut trees 🌴, a carousel 🎠 – kids can run and play while taking beautiful photos. 6️⃣ Senbo Water Park is year-round friendly! The indoor temperature is a constant 30°C, so kids can enjoy the "sea" even in winter. There are also exciting performances 🎭 – super easy to keep kids entertained! 7️⃣ Don't miss the Lighthouse Square! Perfect for watching the sunrise 🌅 and beachcombing.
