My friend and I both think it is so-so. However, the price is the same, it is also freshly made and sold, and there are more braised flavors. It is very convenient to have lunch nearby.

🚴♀️I traveled to Quzhou alone for 2 days and ate at 16 restaurants. There are still many recommended places I didn't try. Food distribution is shown in picture 2. ✅Baked Flatbread 📍Shu Ji Baked Flatbread 🔸I bought some large and small baked flatbreads while passing by the museum. They're freshly made and baked, with generous fillings. The large flatbread is very big, not too thick or thin, and very fragrant and crispy. 🌟Recommended! 📍Yu Ji Baked Flatbread 🔸The small flatbreads took a while to arrive, but they were burnt and small. Just average. 📍Zhou Shu Baked Flatbread 🔸The small flatbreads are really fragrant when freshly baked. They're the largest and have the most generous fillings of the three I tried. 🌟Recommended! ✔️Other baked flatbreads include Yangjiaxiang Baked Flatbread, Zhan Ji, Dong Baba, etc. There are baked flatbread shops everywhere; I couldn't finish them all. ✅Pouched Flatbread 📍Xu Ji Fried Dumplings 🔸I bought one while passing by Songyuan. It got a little soft after sitting for a while, thin, and didn't have much filling. Just average. 📍Songyuan Pouched Flatbread 🔸Freshly made and baked with generous fillings, large size, 🌟spicy flavor is delicious, this place is worth the portion size. 📍Gaojia Breakfast 🔸Among the several bagged pancake shops I've tried, this one is relatively inexpensive. Lots of sesame seeds and meat filling, great value for money, 🌟recommended. ✔️Most breakfast shops have this, eat it with fried dough sticks. The one in Fushan is said to be delicious too. ✅Crystal Cake 📍Xiduozi 🔸I tried the original mint and milk mint flavors. I felt the milk one was richer and tastier. The crystal cake is quite soft, unlike other shops; you need to use a spoon to drink it, 🌟but it's really delicious. 📍Crystal Cake Girl 🔸I tried the milk flavor. The crystal cake is like other shops, with distinct pieces, a bit on the sweet side. ✅Duck Head 📍Wang Agai 🔸The duck head and feet are stewed until tender and flavorful, but the duck head feels a bit dry after chewing a lot. The red bean crystal cake is too sweet, but there are a lot of red beans. 📍Qu Laotou 🔸The duck heads were quite delicious, with generous portions of rice noodles, green beans, and peanuts. The dining environment was relatively pleasant. ✔️I didn't go to Mazhandi, so I didn't try the recommended Lao Pei duck heads. Zhou Shu's were also good; duck heads are a staple at snack shops, and everything was very tender and flavorful. ✅Intestine, Wonton, Meatballs, Fried Buns, Baked Cakes, etc. 📍Baoxian Wonton 🔸I saw they were selling sausage, with two fillings: glutinous rice and rice flour. Apparently, locals eat rice flour, so I bought the rice flour version. The skin was thin, and the rice flour filling was smooth. 🌟If you haven't tried it, you can give it a shot. 📍Lao Xu Silver Noodles 🔸The meatballs were lumped together, with a lot of starch and not much meat filling. The texture was just average. The crystal cake had a strong minty flavor. The bowl probably wasn't washed thoroughly, as there was some oil on top. This place was just okay; other shops might be better. 📍Quezi Wonton 🔸The wonton wrappers were indeed thin. They added fried pork cracklings and crispy fried dough sticks, which were very fragrant. The soup was rather bland. Small portions, filling is negligible, 10 yuan a serving 📍Wang Xiaole Steamed Buns 🔸Saw it while passing by, randomly bought some steamed buns, the taste was so-so, the other buns might be better. 📍Duoyuan Snacks 🔸Freshly steamed rice cakes are soft and fluffy, many flavors available, eat them fresh out of the steamer, otherwise they might be a bit oily. 📍Shijing Breakfast 🔸Next to Gao's, the fried buns have very thin skin, the fried bottom isn't thick either, and they're very crispy, unlike what I usually eat. I only ate fried buns from this place, 🌟surprisingly delicious, are all Quzhou fried buns like this? 📍Yang Aizhen 🔸Eaten while transiting through Longyou. The sauce rice cake was a bit dry, it would be better fresh out of the steamer. The crystal cake wasn't too sweet and was delicious. The scallion steamed buns were good, the fried rice cake was a bit oily. ✅Regardless of whether you can handle spicy food or not, the spicy ones are better than the non-spicy ones. #EatHereDuringNationalDay #LocalFood #ACollectionOfDeliciousSnacks #CityCulture #LocalSpecialties
Yu Ji Baked Flatbread is truly a vibrant symbol of Quzhou. I was blown away the first time I tried it in Hangzhou, so I made a special trip back to Quzhou to try this most authentic flatbread shop. #TryALocalOldBrand ———————————— The location is super easy to find, in a small alley behind the IFC Mall. If you're staying at the Atour Hotel, it's just a five-minute walk. It's summer vacation, and students are flocking back to try it; people were still coming to get takeout until 10 pm! That shows how delicious it is! #LocalDelicacy ———————————— The small baked flatbread is filled with meat, scallions, pickled vegetables, and chili powder. It looks simple, but after being baked in a coal oven, it's incredibly delicious! Watching it puff up from the four corners of the dough is amazing. One bite and the juicy, spicy flavor is irresistible. Eating ten at a time wouldn't be an exaggeration! The mixed hot pot 🍲 is also a must-order. It's packed with ingredients and incredibly flavorful; it goes perfectly with both glass noodles and dumplings, and it's surprisingly delicious 😋 I heard Zhou Xun mention the vegetable and shredded pork rice noodles in an interview. She said her two most cherished hometown snacks are baked flatbread and rice noodles!! Zhou Xun really knows how to eat! In Quzhou, duck heads, duck feet, and duck necks are all famous snacks! I don't eat duck heads, so I ordered duck necks. They were fragrant and spicy but not overly so—a slightly spicy and slightly sweet flavor. Finally, the must-order is the mung bean soup! A must-order! A must-order! Their mung bean soup tastes just like home, without any artificial sweeteners—very authentic!
On the counter lay dough and well-mixed filling, a vibrant mix of white fat and pink lean meat, each color distinct, while a glowing red charcoal fire burned in the nearby oven… • At Yu Ji Baked Flatbread's flagship store, owner Zhuang Hongxiang personally oversaw the process, kneading the dough into long strips, stretching them into segments, flattening them with a rolling pin, wrapping the meat filling inside, spreading them on a pile of green scallions, and then sealing the edges. In the blink of an eye, a dozen or so dough balls were formed. She pressed them against the inside of the oven, shaping them into small flatbreads about two centimeters thick, and baked them for five minutes… • This was a custom-made flatbread for me, as I don't eat spicy food. Her control over the saltiness and spiciness was already masterful. • Good cuisine requires each ingredient to contribute its unique character, so that "the palate is overwhelmed with delight." But baked flatbread is different. The classic version uses only scallions and meat as filling (hence the local name for it), with chili added, wrapped in dough. The four ingredients may seem mismatched, but the result is a rich and satisfying filling. This aligns with the culinary traditions of the Jinhua-Quzhou Basin, a region historically primarily agricultural. According to local food critics in Quzhou, the initial inspiration for the baked flatbread likely came from the sesame seed cakes of Jinhua. In the 21st century, the Quzhou characteristics of the baked flatbread became increasingly pronounced, with smaller sizes and spicier fillings, evolving into a snack more suited to local tastes. For older Quzhou residents, a bowl of baked flatbreads is all it takes for a late-night snack, providing a pleasant spot for families to gather and enjoy each other on a cold night.
This is another well-regarded baked flatbread shop, located in a more bustling and easily accessible area. However, it's slightly inferior to Zhou Shu's baked flatbread overall. The ambiance is so-so, and the taste differs in that the meat filling isn't as fresh and juicy. My friend and I both thought it was just average. However, the prices are equally affordable, and both are made to order, with a wider selection of braised dishes. It's very convenient for having lunch nearby.
