This fish restaurant hidden deep in the mountains in Pengzhou had me finishing all the soup! 🐟 I recently discovered Shenxian Fish Restaurant in Pengzhou, right in Xiaoyudong Town. It's adorably named "Fish Knows." This itinerary is perfect for a half-day trip, and a fresh fish hotpot after a hot spring soak is the perfect accompaniment! 📍Address: Group 6, Taizi Village, Xiaoyudong Town, Pengzhou City The restaurant specializes in freshly caught river fish, which are ponded directly in the courtyard. The owner says they're all caught fresh from the Jianjiang River that day. We ordered the signature Huoxiang hotpot base with river rice balls. The fish was incredibly tender and plump, and even friends who don't usually eat fish praised its freshness! ✨Must-Order Guide: - River Grouper/Sturgeon: Measured by kilogram, just over three kilograms was just right for the four of us. - Wild Mushroom Platter: Perfect with the fish soup. - Farmhouse Tofu: Absorbs the broth and is incredibly flavorful. - Freshly Fried Small Fish: So crispy you can eat even the bones. The backyard faces a gurgling stream. In the summer, you can sit by the water and enjoy your hot pot while listening to the water's gurgling sound. It's especially relaxing to go around 4 pm for the least crowds.
