The mountain in the image wasn&#39;t majestic, its grayish-blue ridges seemingly softened by time, yet a tenacious presence permeated the mist&mdash;this was Shede Mountain. Those names, hidden in the local gazetteer: Ketou Mountain, Potou Mountain, suddenly came alive in the light and shadow.

The mountain is layered. The grass on the nearside slopes was a vibrant green, and wild chrysanthemums peeked out from the rocks, like scattered gold. Higher up, the shadows deepened, and pine needles filtered the sunlight into fine specks, which fell on the exposed rocks, truly capturing the robustness implicit in the name &quot;Potou.&quot; The most captivating aspect was the mountaintop, half-immersed in milky white fog, revealing only a dark, dark outline. The mist shifted as the wind blew, evoking the phrase &quot;Shede Hanhui&quot; from old books&mdash;legend has it that ancient people saw a light like an arrowhead on the mountaintop.
