Nanchang's prices are shocking to me! A local native picked me up at the high-speed train and went straight to his house A huge number of local natives used this place as a canteen. Tucked away in a residential building behind the China Resources Vanguard on Zhongshan Road, the entrance isn't particularly conspicuous. 😓 But after following the navigation for a few twists and turns, I found it. I was pleasantly surprised by the saying, "Good wine needs no bush." The restaurant boasts a retro decor. It's not large, but it evokes a vibrant, homely atmosphere. 1️⃣ Garlic Spare Ribs with Mahua (Fried Twist Dough) This dish is a must-order for almost every table! The spare ribs are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a spiciness that's incredibly intense. Even the crispy fried mahua (fried dough) is coated in chili peppers. 🤤 It's a real treat! It truly lives up to the saying, "Nanchang residents revel in this, but outsiders beware." 2️⃣ Salted Egg Yolk Prawns Each prawn is generously coated in a thick layer of salted egg yolk. The first bite is a crispy, crunchy sound, followed by the tender, springy shrimp and a rich salted egg yolk flavor! 3️⃣ Braised Chicken Feet I thought I'd seen a lot of Nanchang spicy braised chicken feet, but I was still blown away when I saw this pot—each chicken foot was plump and 🫣 so tender it fell off the bone with just a touch of chopsticks! So yummy!!

Each dish is a dozen or so, and the flavors are perfectly suited to local tastes. It's been my go-to cafeteria since graduation!!! It's always packed, so be sure to arrive early to avoid the lines! We especially recommend the abalone instant noodles, the fish in oil, and the lungs with a poached egg...
