If you haven't tried Liuyang steamed dishes, you've missed your trip! A local friend brought us to this restaurant. The value is incredible! ️ A table full of dishes cost only 40 or 50 yuan per person. We went back the next day for another meal. 😝 20 yuan per person was enough to keep us going. They've been in Liuyang for quite a while. They have several locations, and they're always crowded with locals. You can't go wrong just by looking at them. Their signature meat is ‼ ️ The pork belly is steamed with sour beans wrapped in pork belly. The sour beans, soaked in the meat fat, are incredibly delicious. Their dried chilies are also delicious. The pressed fish head is also delicious. 👀 For around 50 yuan, I got a huge pot full of tender fish. The chopped chilies are steamed together, making it incredibly flavorful. The soup is delicious with rice. I was quite impressed with the cured duck. It was steamed to the perfect firmness, firm and chewy, without any fishy smell. It's cut into thin strips for easy eating. You absolutely must try their stir-fried meat and steamed pickled cabbage. ️ It's cheap and goes well with rice. We drove there, about two hours from Changsha. The toll was about 50-60. 🏠 Chifuli Hotel Has its own parking lot. It's located near the Tianhong shopping district. It's about a 10-minute drive from the Sky Theater. Our twin room cost over 80 yuan per person, fully equipped with a smart phone. The common areas are great for photos. There's also a small, cozy garden. 🎆Cijintan Orchard After comparing prices, we chose Cijintan Orchard. The price is 30 yuan per person, including a bottle of water and a stool. If you're in a large group, you need to enter the village before 5:00 PM, otherwise traffic will be restricted and the walk will be quite long. The owner was so nice. We arrived early and let us rest at his place. The orchard is located high up, making it easy to capture people and fireworks together. However, since it's located in the back, there's thick smoke during the latter half of each display. The fireworks start at 8:00 and go until 8:30. Every Saturday, there's a different theme, and the display isn't continuous, with a few minutes' break in between. 🍻Tang Fugui It's right next to the hotel, about a 10-minute drive away. It's cheap and delicious, around 30 yuan per person, so we had to hold onto the wall to get out. So we had two meals there. The steamed pickled cabbage and stir-fried meat with rice are both amazing. The minced fish head is a classic Liuyang dish, a must-try! The fish was tender and flavorful, and the portion was generous. The signature steamed pork is fatty but not greasy and melts in your mouth. A medium portion is enough for a small group. The cured duck was another one of our favorite dishes. ☑️ The duck meat was incredibly tender and had no fishy smell. 🍻Bei Mo Ting Located near the Sky Theater. I highly recommend the beef bone hotpot; it's so comfortable when it's cold. The beef bones become more flavorful with cooking, and the addition of some garnishes makes them even more flavorful. The grilled oily edges were my first time eating them, and it felt like eating a large chunk of butter. The snails were also delicious, and one was almost the size of an egg. ☑️Uncle Goat I stumbled upon a local bread brand. It's cheap and delicious, a true taste of childhood. Even though we were stuck in traffic, we insisted on going a second time to buy some bread back to Changsha. ✅Guandu Ancient Town A relatively standard ancient town near Liuyang, with nothing much to see. It's famous for its late-night snacks and snails, and the night view is great. I recommend visiting in the evening. Even locals love it, so the food is guaranteed to be amazing! 🏠Tang Fugui 📍Chengdong Community, Fuxing South Road, Liuyang Recommended🍚 Lao Tang Family Steamed Meat: Steamed pork belly wrapped in beans with dried chilies. Not spicy or greasy at all, and super delicious with rice! Tea Oil Steamed Cured Duck: Steamed cured duck with fresh chilies. They make their own cured meat, and it's even better than anything I've had in Changsha😋 Tea Oil Steamed Grass Carp: Steamed grass carp with dried chilies is my favorite. It's fresh, the dried chilies🌶️ aren't too spicy, and the tea oil creates a wonderful aroma. It's always packed every time I've been here🔥 Mainly because it's affordable and delicious😋 Many locals use it as a cafeteria! This Tang Fugui restaurant truly impressed me. The prices are very affordable, making it a great value for working-class people like us who enjoy a delicious meal. The dishes are truly delicious, from the fish-flavored shredded pork to the chili stir-fried pork, each one is beautifully presented, fragrant, and appetizing. Although the lunchtime crowd was quite high, the wait staff served the dishes promptly, which I appreciated. Furthermore, while some dishes might not be as polished as they could be, like the fried vermicelli noodles being a bit loose, the flavors were incredibly well-rounded, making it impossible not to stop eating more. Their signature dish, steamed chicken with vinegar, is truly incredible. The chicken is tender and juicy, complemented by a rich sauce that makes every bite a delight. And the old Tang family's traditional steamed pork belly, with its delicate texture and melt-in-your-mouth flavor, paired with the unique flavor of dried beans, is a true delight for the taste buds.
