Family, just got back from Lianjiang Sanluocuo this weekend and was completely blown away! I had no idea there was such a hidden gem near Fuzhou, and I couldn't wait to share this guide with everyone! 👇
📍 Address: Banding Village, Danyang Town, Lianjiang County
🚗 Transportation: Self-driving is recommended, about an hour from downtown Fuzhou, and the scenery along the way is stunning!
🎫 Admission: No admission required, free admission, and a fantastic value!
🏯 Historical Charm:
Sanluocuo, built in the late Tang Dynasty, is the largest and best-preserved ancient residential complex in Lianjiang. With Tang Dynasty architecture as its foundation and Ming Dynasty structures as its main structure, the complex boasts over 200 rooms, large and small, brimming with history. Every brick and tile tells a story of the past, making for stunning photos! 📸
🌳 Special Features:
"Mountain springs flow into the house, a stream flows into the house, and the stream flows into the house"—this unique landscape is unseen anywhere else! The canals are crystal clear, teeming with small fish and shrimp. Walking among the ancient houses feels like stepping back into ancient times.
🎮 Experience:
✔ A wide variety of folk activities, including soy milk grinding, tie-dyeing, and traditional papermaking, are a delight for both adults and children.
✔ The children's play area offers a variety of facilities, including safe and fun non-powered rides, allowing children to have a blast.
✔ Borrow a Hanfu suit and stroll through Dutang Water Street, immersing yourself in the charm of the ancient houses and creating stunning photos in no time.
🍱 Food Recommendations:
A must-visit is Dutangyan Restaurant, where you can savor Lianjiang specialties like meat dumplings, fish balls, and handmade tofu. Don't miss the snacks at the Mountain Food Market, too: malt sugar and fruit jelly are full of childhood flavors.
🏨 Accommodation Recommendation:
Xiyuan Sanluocuo Hotel is located within the ancient house. The rooms feature a rustic décor yet modern comforts. You can even fall asleep to the sound of gurgling water at night – it's truly relaxing.
💡 Tips:
1. We recommend a two-day, one-night visit to fully experience the charm of the ancient house.
2. If you want to capture beautiful photos of the ancient style, be sure to prepare or rent a Hanfu costume in advance.
3. Weekends can be crowded, so if you're looking for a quieter experience, visit on weekdays.
While few people know about Lianjiang Sanluocuo, why not check it out now?
