heidu-This is also an old shop in Barkhor Street. The curry rice is well-known in the neighborhood.
A portion costs 20 yuan, and it can be served with soup or with dry food. I usually like to eat with soup, just like soaking rice, eating and drinking soup. The small potato cubes inside are delicious.
Although the store is not big, it is basically full at meal times. You need to come in advance, and there is also sweet tea to drink.

"At 26, fresh out of work, I boarded a train to Tibet with my suitcase and a touch of uncertainty. It turns out that only after life is paused can you hear your own voice." 🌈My honest packing list for my trip to Tibet at the end of November (cold but worthwhile!) Medications are essential: ibuprofen, motion sickness pills (the mountain roads are winding), erythromycin ointment (a lifesaver when my nose is cracked from dryness) Warmth is key: fleece-lined windbreaker + inner liner, wool socks, wool hat, scarf (the wind is like a knife) Moisturizing and sun protection: SPF50+ sunscreen, lip balm, face mask (one a day is no exaggeration) Zhang), face cream (Lhasa's dryness is unbearable) Small items with big uses: thermos (for hot water along the way), power bank (charging on the bus is difficult), hand warmers (for feet!), snacks (chocolate, biscuits, nuts to keep you full) Shoes: non-slip waterproof hiking boots (for traversing snow-capped mountains and sand dunes) ✨Highlights & Off-the-beaten-path attractions: Experience life and discover yourself 🌈Lhasa Acclimatization Day: Potala Palace (off-season, less crowded, easy to book, free!), relaxing under the sun at Jokhang Temple, enjoying sweet tea on Barkhor Street, eating "delicious meat stewed rice" (the soup and rice are super comforting), and checking out A Diao Milk Tea~ Day 1 Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake (first glimpse of blue ice) → Karola Glacier (windy but breathtaking) Day 2: Everest 108 Bends (motion sickness medication kicks in!) → Jiawula Pass (view of five snow-capped peaks) → Everest Base Camp (starry sky as cold as diamonds) Day 3: Ten Thousand Sand Dunes (instant desert crossing) → Amazhimi Snow Mountain (beautiful off-the-beaten-path scenery! Like stepping into "Game of Thrones") → Zongcuo Lake (snow-capped mountain reflections are breathtaking) Day 4: Siling Co Lake (magical blue ice, a lake like the sea) → Northern Tibetan Uninhabited Area (encounter with Tibetan gazelles) Day 5: Namtso Lake Half-Circle (a different perspective on Namtso Lake) 🌟Travel Notes: 1. Potala Palace reservations are required in advance; same-day bookings are impossible! Wear long pants and sunglasses (UV rays are strong). Both routes are accessible, but there's no turning back, so choose carefully. A photo opportunity at the Yaowang Mountain viewing platform costs 50 RMB; bring a banknote. 2. Photos of Yamdrok Lake and Namtso Lake with sheep and Tibetan mastiffs cost 5-10 RMB (normal price). Yaks are a bit expensive (I personally don't think it's necessary). 3. Highly recommend the Ten Thousand Sand Dunes (a harmonious blend of sand dunes, water, and snow-capped mountains) and Ama Zhimi Snow Mountain (a super secluded spot; fewer people, truly peaceful, you can hear your inner strength). Absolutely stunning and photogenic. 🍵 Food and Shopping Snippets Sweet Tea House: 1 RMB per cup at Guangming Gangqiong; packed with locals. Delicious Meat Stew Rice: A classic combination of potatoes and beef; go early to avoid queues. A Diao Milk Tea: Not to my taste; too sweet, but worth checking out. 📌Practical Information Expenses: Flights in and out; total cost around 3500 RMB (including accommodation/transportation/guide/meals/photos/a small amount of personal shopping). Border Permit: Super hassle-free with your tour guide handling it (essential for Everest/Ali!) ✨Finally, some heartfelt words: Late November in Tibet, tourists are scarce, the mountains are frigid. Standing silently before Mount Amazhimi, I suddenly truly understood—life is not a track, but a wilderness. Hidden in the alleys of Barkhor Street in Lhasa, I discovered a divine meat stew rice restaurant! It's under 30 RMB per person, so delicious I could cry! 😭 ❤️Signature Potato and Beef Stew Rice: The potatoes are stewed until incredibly soft, the beef chunks are large and flavorful, and the portion is huge! 🥩 The rich broth coats the rice perfectly; one bite is pure bliss! 🌟Hidden deep in the alley, sitting by the window basking in the sun is incredibly comfortable. A must-visit when in Barkhor Street!! 🍲:Delicious Meat Stew Rice Restaurant 📍:No. 40, Dongzisu Road, inside the Naiqiong Kangsang Courtyard ⏰:10:30-16:00 💡Tips: Definitely order the pickled vegetables!! #LhasaFood #BarkhorStreetSnacks #TibetTravelGuide #LocalFood #TibetanFood

I love sitting by the Jokhang Temple wall, basking in the sun! Watching the people come and go and listening to "Don't Come, Mid-Spring" is truly captivating. (This combination is my favorite.) I was so lucky to see both Mount Namjagbarwa and Mount Everest in the sunlight, as well as a few peach blossoms in Nyingchi, a sunny day at Yamdrok Lake, and the ravenous birds at Namtso Lake. These ten days in Tibet were more tiring than two months of traveling in mainland China, but there's a certain cleansing effect here. While you might seem exhausted, you're actually feeling rejuvenated, hahaha. Most of the people who come here are students or those who've quit their jobs, but it's clear that their mental health is improving. I met so many kind and interesting people, received so much compliments, and I feel incredibly awesome. If I have the chance, I'll definitely go to Ngari next time 🏔️ "Humans are a gentle, insignificant part of nature." #MyNicheTravelStrategy#SoloTravel #Tibet #Lhasa #Shigatse #Nyingchi
