Kaifeng Culinary Exploration: Song Feng Ya Yan For our only full meal during our two-day stay in Kaifeng, we chose Song Feng Ya Yan, located at the intersection of the Shuanglong Lane Historical and Cultural District. It proved to be a great choice. The restaurant is very conveniently located; just take a taxi to Shuanglong Lane and walk through the Shuanglong Lane archway. However, we arrived early, so we explored the lane first before returning to the restaurant for dinner. The set menu for two we ordered included Kaifeng specialties like Bianjing Roast Duck and Soup Dumplings. The roast duck's mint topping was especially striking, unlike the roast duck we'd had in Beijing. During our meal, there were guzheng and dance performances on the restaurant stage. The waiters, dressed in classical attire, provided excellent service. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal.

#SongCultureLandmarkRestaurant Tucked away in a small alley, this restaurant is said to be the hometown of Emperor Taizu of Song. It's a great place for photos, featuring a restaurant dedicated to Song culture. The menu features classic Henan and Kaifeng cuisine, but also includes modern takes on Song dishes, restored versions of ancient dishes, and dishes inspired by calligraphy and painting. A newly opened restaurant in Shuanglong Alley. There's dancing and performances in the lobby. The food is delicious and the cultural atmosphere is particularly rich. ❤️The menu has three main themes: ☝️The first is the restoration of ancient recipes, bringing dishes that have traveled through the ages back to life. 🤘The second is the re-creation of the artistic conception of famous poems and paintings. It's a real challenge to ensure that the dishes are both true to form and aesthetically pleasing, while also being delicious. My favorite is the A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains. 👌🏻The third is traditional Henan cuisine, personally prepared by a Chinese culinary master. Authentic. 🥰🥰🥰🥰Overall, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, and we loved so many dishes. So, the average cost per person in the lobby was over 100 yuan, which I personally think is well worth it. I heard there's also a restaurant in the backyard, offering a variety of options starting from 150 yuan. I hope to visit the backyard next time. The roast duck is delicious.

The cuisine is inspired by paintings, recreating the artistic conception. This dish, "Snowy Forest Scene," is a prime example. It's delicious, beautiful, and I learned a few stories about it. I've gotten to know Fan Kuan since today. There are many other cultural dishes. There are modern takes on Song Dynasty cuisine, dishes inspired by famous poems and paintings. There are also some traditional, authentic Henan dishes. They're said to be personally prepared by Chinese culinary masters, and the taste is truly amazing. 🍐🎼The environment🍐 is truly wonderful. In addition to the retro architecture and rich artistic conception, there are also nine themed experiences.

[Mint] Ambiance: Ancient streets and courtyards, small bridges and flowing water—it's absolutely stunning! I've never seen a restaurant in Kaifeng with such a rich cultural atmosphere. [Service Bell] Service: The young lady was very elegant and had a strong sense of service. The greetings and farewells were all done with Song Dynasty etiquette, which made for a very engaging experience. Since it's just opened, we still need to get familiar with it, which is understandable. We're mainly encouraging. [Playful] Features: With a Song Dynasty theme, the restaurant offers a lot of interactive activities, and the various experiences were fun. My wife and children changed costumes, wrote calligraphy, and even had a Jiaozi printed. The Song Dynasty dance and music performances were even more captivating, with their graceful movements. 🥬 Dishes: A selection of traditional Henan dishes, but more of them are reimagined and innovative dishes from Song Dynasty culture. The prices are reasonable and acceptable. I dined in the main hall this time, but I heard there's also seating in the backyard. It's a place where you can choose to spend your money. The Bianjing Roast Duck Soup Dumplings were delicious. The roast duck was also delicious.
