Huilan Shudao is a chain brand in Hualien. You can use UnionPay. They mainly make various pastries and cakes. They mainly feature taro and sweet potato. Many of them are available for tasting. There are also pineapple cakes. I personally like the taro and sweet potato. They are very powdery and have a light milky flavor.

This is a very famous mochi shop in Hualien. The best thing here is actually the organic mochi ice cream, which also comes with a slice of potato chips. It is a very healthy ice cream. The mochi inside is actually average, so just eat the ice cream.
