Silky and soft, the taste is delicious. The marinated flavor is all over the rice noodles.

I often eat Minggui rice noodles. Every time I come here, I bring my friends with me. The taste is great.

A bowl of it in the summer is incredibly refreshing❄️ 💡 A Guide to Avoiding Pitfalls: 1️⃣ For beer fish, look for "Master Chef" or "Sister Xie" and don't be scammed by touts! 2️⃣ The regular rice noodle soup is enough, don't pay extra for the "specialty" variety! 3️⃣ For souvenirs, go to the grocery store next to Shouzi Restaurant, which is 1/3 cheaper than the scenic area! I'm so tempted to move to Yangshuo and eat there every day! Get this guide now! 💨 #YangshuoFoodTips #GuilinMust-EatList #LocalRecommendations #TravelFoodieDiary #GuangxiFoodMap
I. Scenic Spots: Avoid These Pitfalls! 1. Li River Bamboo Rafting: Choose the Yangdi-Jiuma Painting Mountain section, not the full journey! The Xingping section is heavily commercialized, with boatmen constantly urging you to take photos. The 20-minute ride is a complete disappointment! 😤 Choose brands like "Golden Dragon" or "Fei Cui"; older rafts are stuffy, shaky, and may even leak. 2. Elephant Trunk Hill: Just take a few photos at the entrance to the scenic area! The 55 yuan entrance fee is enough for a 10-minute tour—absolutely inexpensive. The best photo spot is on Binjiang Road across from the scenic area, where you can capture the full reflection of Elephant Trunk Hill. 📸 3. Yulong River Rafting: Choose the Jinlong Bridge-Jiuxian section! This is the highlight of the Yulong River, a 1.5-hour journey where you can leisurely admire the scenery on both sides. Don't choose the Jima section; it's not only short but also offers monotonous scenery, a real regret. 4. Two Rivers and Four Lakes: A night tour is more worthwhile than a day tour! But don't buy the 190 yuan luxury boat ticket; the 150 yuan standard boat ticket is just as good. The onboard guides will only promote local specialties; if you want to hear about the attractions, research online in advance. II. Food: Locals often visit the places you'll find reliable. 1. Guilin Rice Noodles: Avoid the restaurants near scenic spots! We recommend Chongshan Rice Noodles or Minggui Rice Noodles. For just 6 yuan, you can enjoy a bowl of authentic rice noodles with a braised egg and wok-fried noodles. They're so delicious you'll want to lick the bowl. Remember, the rice noodles should be served dry; adding soup is a foreign favorite. 2. Beer Fish: Choose "Xie Sanjie" or "Jiangbian Yufang." They'll kill live fish to order. Be sure to choose swordbone fish, which has fewer bones and is tender. Don't trust street vendors who try to sell you food. They'll not only cheat you on weight but also taste fishy. You'll end up spending over 200 yuan and end up feeling pissed. 😡 3. Stuffed Snails: Go to "Agan Restaurant." The snails are large, generously stuffed, and bursting with juice. The stuffed snails at the scenic area are not only small, but the filling is entirely made of flour, leaving you with virtually no meat. 4. Sweet Soup: A must-try is the "Glutinous Rice Sweet Soup Shop"! The taro and sago pudding and the clear soup are both incredible, 10 yuan a bowl, and overflowing with toppings. Avoid the bottled sweet soups sold at the entrance to the scenic area; they're expensive and taste terrible. III. Transportation: Avoid getting ripped off, save money and worry 1. From the Airport/High-Speed Rail Station to the City: Avoid illegal taxis at the airport! The airport bus goes directly to the city for 25 yuan, and there's a bus at the high-speed rail station exit that takes you downtown for 2 yuan. Illegal taxi drivers often ask for 100 yuan and try to solicit passengers along the way, wasting your time. 2. Urban Transportation: Renting an electric scooter is the most convenient option! For 30 yuan a day, you can go wherever you want. Guilin's city center is small, so an electric scooter is perfectly adequate. Avoid taxis; drivers tend to take detours, and out-of-town tourists, especially, can easily be ripped off. 3. Transportation between attractions: Don't take a private van from the Li River to the Yulong River! A bus from Yangshuo Bus Station will get you there for 10 yuan, while a private van costs 50 yuan and isn't safe. IV. Tips for Avoiding Pitfalls 1. Don't trust roadside "low-cost day tours"! A 30-yuan tour of Guilin might seem like a good deal, but the tour guides will actually take you shopping the entire time, and if you don't buy anything, you'll get scolded. It's a terrible experience! 😤 2. Don't buy local specialties in scenic areas! Go to the Guilin Department Store or Walmart for affordable prices and guaranteed quality. Specialties in scenic areas are expensive, low-quality, and you might even end up buying fakes. 3. Choose accommodation in the city or near Yangshuo West Street! Don't stay too far away, or you'll spend at least two hours a day in traffic. We recommend the Guilin Hotel in the city and the West Street Inn in Yangshuo for great value and convenient transportation. 4. Remember to bring sunscreen! Guilin's UV rays are incredibly strong. Without sunscreen, you can get two degrees tanned in a single day. Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential. #GuilinTravelGuide #GuilinTravel #GuilinLandscapesTheBestInTheWorld #HowDidEveryoneDoYouDoOverNationalDayHoliday? #NationalDayTravelDiary
