神奇马可My friend raved about the incredible Fuding snacks, so I came here specifically to try them! Originally, I hadn't planned to stop in Fuding; I was going straight from Xiapu to Wenzhou. But since he mentioned it so many times and saw pictures on social media, I decided to stay here for two days.
1⃣️Qiu Xinxiong Meat Slice Shop
📍No. 30, Danshui Bridge, Taimu Avenue
My friend said any meat slice shop here is guaranteed to be good, but I still asked the owner, and he's a shop that's been open for over 30 years!
Locals also go there. After ordering, I watched the owner shovel the meat slices into the pot with a spoon, just like making knife-cut noodles. The speed of his swishing movements was so appetizing.
The dry-mixed meat slices I ordered were perfectly chewy. If you like a stronger flavor, add chili peppers and vinegar for a spicy and sour start!
2⃣️Laoxiang Almond Tofu
📍No. 41 Hegan Road
Attracted by the name "almond tofu," a dish I've loved since childhood, I followed the waiter's recommendation and ordered the magnolia jelly almond tofu. It was much better than what I'd had in Shaoxing. I chatted with the owner about local snacks and attractions, and he recommended "ants climbing a tree."
The name is quite interesting. In Fuding, it's the name of a dessert. In Taiwan, it's the name of a dish with rice noodles and minced meat. The waiter in Changzhou said it's also the name of a dish, but it uses real, edible black ants.
One name, different places, different things—very interesting. I ordered the Ants Climbing a Tree, with hawthorns and raisins hanging from a strip of agar-agar. It really did look like ants climbing a tree, and I slurped it up.
3⃣️ Fang Ji Shizijie Chuanchuan
📍No. 20, Shizixi Lane, Tongshan Street
It's said to be very famous. I passed by and saw a line. The portions looked small, so I bought some to try. The spicy tofu and dried tofu were delicious, especially with the sauce. The rest was just average. A quick bite cost just over 10 yuan, which is quite cheap.
4⃣️ Wu Ji Pan-fried Buns
The owner of the dessert shop recommended it. When I arrived, they had just finished making a whole batch, and there was a line, so I bought one. The ingredients were substantial and it was quite good.
5⃣️ Pork Slices Grandpa (Old Shop on Shizihou Street)
📍No. 54, Gucheng West Road
It's also a long-standing place. I went back the next day. The owners are an elderly couple, and there were quite a few people there. I ordered the dry stuff this time, but I personally prefer the Qiu Xinxiong stuffing from yesterday.
6️⃣ Fuding Seafood Street
📍North side of Shanshui Mingdu Kindergarten, Yanhe Road
Although I was enjoying my food, I was drawn to this place on my way back to the hotel that evening. First, there were people selling seafood at the intersection late at night, then there were the sounds of red lanterns and hawkers, so I walked in.
The entire street is filled with seafood stalls! The open shopfronts on both sides are filled with fresh seafood, which is very appetizing to look at, and even if you don't eat, it's still fun to just watch.
Although I only stayed in Fuding for two days, the variety of snacks was really good and worth the trip. Taimu Mountain is also nearby and worth a visit.

#LocalDeliciousFood I love Fuding pork slices, so when my husband had a day off, I finally took the train from Shenzhen to Fuding and started our foodie adventure. ✅Agong Roupian: As expected of an internet-famous restaurant, it was packed. I didn't feel the crowds the first time I passed by, so I went back in the evening when it was less crowded. The xiaolongbao, pork slices in soup, mixed pork slices, and chicken wings were all pretty good, and the value was quite good. ✅Fangshizijie Chuanchuan: Delicious, non-irritating oden 🍢, focusing on value. You can enjoy the freedom of skewers here, and it's quite popular with local students and young people. P.S. Their sauces are great. ✅Almond Tofu (grass jelly, magnolia jelly, almond tofu are all available 🉑️) We went after dinner, and the place was practically packed. The almond tofu had a very chewy texture and a pure almond flavor, but at first I thought it was coconut flakes. It was refreshing and thirst-quenching, perfect for summer. ✅Bei Shichang Beef Balls The chewy texture is delicious, and the beef broth is rich and tasty. The place has a lively atmosphere. Next door is a small local market, so it's quite popular with tourists. ✅Wu Ji Pan-fried Buns We saw they only open in the afternoon, so we came in the evening. I've never been a fan of pan-fried buns, but the burst of juicy, fragrant flavor was so satisfying. After eating, we couldn't help but return for more to go. ✅Theater Tofu Pudding I'm a big fan of desserts. Located next to Dingpei, they're 2 yuan a bag, so convenient and down-to-earth. Delicious 😋 ✅Back Street Scallion Pancakes The scallion pancakes are crispy, fragrant, and thin. Eat them hot and they're delicious. ✅Zhuo Chi (Fish Shark's Fin) A Fuding specialty, a must-try for sweet lovers. It's perfectly braised and has plenty of sauce, making it perfect as a snack or a side dish. It was quite impressive the first time I had it. ✅Dianxiaqin Fried Noodles Their fried noodles are incredibly fragrant, and they also have a wide selection of snacks. They specialize in freshly made dishes, and they're delicious and filling. After dinner, we started strolling. Fuding Historical Old Street: This street isn't very long, so if you're interested in learning more about Fuding's history, come here and savor its urban development. Huguo Temple: Located next to a small village on the mountain, the architecture is quite unique. Inside, there's a place for prayer and a cafe. It's a quiet and cozy temple worth visiting if you're passing through. Fuding White Tea Garden: On the way to Huguo Temple, we saw a large Fuding white tea garden. The air was filled with the faint fragrance of white tea. White tea lovers should come and experience it, or take some home as souvenirs. Fuding is a small, culinary city perfect for strolling. With a slow pace and a wealth of delicious food, it's a great place for food lovers to explore. Tips❗️ 1️⃣ Fuding has a wide variety of food options, all concentrated in a convenient location. You can get around by electric scooter. 2️⃣ Because of the wide variety, ordering a portion for two people can help avoid unnecessary food waste. 3️⃣ Bring a power bank, wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and be on the go. #FoodExplorationNotes #TryAuthenticOldBoutiques #MyLateNightFood #LocalSpecialSnacks
