My friend raved about the incredible Fuding snacks, so I came here specifically to try them! Originally, I hadn't planned to stop in Fuding; I was going straight from Xiapu to Wenzhou. But since he mentioned it so many times and saw pictures on social media, I decided to stay here for two days. 1⃣️Qiu Xinxiong Meat Slice Shop 📍No. 30, Danshui Bridge, Taimu Avenue My friend said any meat slice shop here is guaranteed to be good, but I still asked the owner, and he's a shop that's been open for over 30 years! Locals also go there. After ordering, I watched the owner shovel the meat slices into the pot with a spoon, just like making knife-cut noodles. The speed of his swishing movements was so appetizing. The dry-mixed meat slices I ordered were perfectly chewy. If you like a stronger flavor, add chili peppers and vinegar for a spicy and sour start! 2⃣️Laoxiang Almond Tofu 📍No. 41 Hegan Road Attracted by the name "almond tofu," a dish I've loved since childhood, I followed the waiter's recommendation and ordered the magnolia jelly almond tofu. It was much better than what I'd had in Shaoxing. I chatted with the owner about local snacks and attractions, and he recommended "ants climbing a tree." The name is quite interesting. In Fuding, it's the name of a dessert. In Taiwan, it's the name of a dish with rice noodles and minced meat. The waiter in Changzhou said it's also the name of a dish, but it uses real, edible black ants. One name, different places, different things—very interesting. I ordered the Ants Climbing a Tree, with hawthorns and raisins hanging from a strip of agar-agar. It really did look like ants climbing a tree, and I slurped it up. 3⃣️ Fang Ji Shizijie Chuanchuan 📍No. 20, Shizixi Lane, Tongshan Street It's said to be very famous. I passed by and saw a line. The portions looked small, so I bought some to try. The spicy tofu and dried tofu were delicious, especially with the sauce. The rest was just average. A quick bite cost just over 10 yuan, which is quite cheap. 4⃣️ Wu Ji Pan-fried Buns The owner of the dessert shop recommended it. When I arrived, they had just finished making a whole batch, and there was a line, so I bought one. The ingredients were substantial and it was quite good. 5⃣️ Pork Slices Grandpa (Old Shop on Shizihou Street) 📍No. 54, Gucheng West Road It's also a long-standing place. I went back the next day. The owners are an elderly couple, and there were quite a few people there. I ordered the dry stuff this time, but I personally prefer the Qiu Xinxiong stuffing from yesterday. 6️⃣ Fuding Seafood Street 📍North side of Shanshui Mingdu Kindergarten, Yanhe Road Although I was enjoying my food, I was drawn to this place on my way back to the hotel that evening. First, there were people selling seafood at the intersection late at night, then there were the sounds of red lanterns and hawkers, so I walked in. The entire street is filled with seafood stalls! The open shopfronts on both sides are filled with fresh seafood, which is very appetizing to look at, and even if you don't eat, it's still fun to just watch. Although I only stayed in Fuding for two days, the variety of snacks was really good and worth the trip. We probably chose 5-6 skewers, and the total cost was 7 yuan. The sauce is really special, and it tastes like I haven't eaten it before. First choose the skewers and dip them in the sauce and take them out. The sauce is divided into spicy and non-spicy. We chose non-spicy. I think it will taste better if you choose skewers that are easier to taste. Most of the skewers we ordered were beans. They felt quite special at first, but after eating too much, everyone had the same taste. It is recommended to order less, taste it first and then add more if the taste is not enough! 📍The fifth stop [🥤Theater Tofu Pudding💰6.5] Tofu Pudding is right next to Dingpei Meat Slices, in a very small alley, and I searched for it for a long time. The business in the store is pretty good, and many people come to take it away. We ordered a small original tofu pudding for 2.5 yuan and a portion of almond fairy grass magnolia for 4 yuan. Overall, I think the taste is average, nothing special. 📍The sixth stop [🍲Dingpei Meat Slices💰25] Their business is also pretty good, and there are teachers with a large group of students to eat. We ordered a soup meat slice for 12 yuan and a mixed meat slice for 13 yuan. The non-spicy version has a sweet garlic flavor, and the spicy version is also quite good (though a bit too spicy). I personally think the non-spicy version is better. 3️⃣ Old-Style Back Street Scallion Pancakes Highly recommended! The scallion flavor was rich and fragrant, and the skin was pan-fried to a golden and crispy texture. We all loved it. 4️⃣ Chu Chi Chicken Wings The 6.5💰 chicken wings were a bit smaller than other places, and tasted a bit sweet and chewy. Fuding is close to Wenzhou Fried Chicken, so when I was little, I often went there with my family for seafood. The prices were cheaper than in Wenzhou! It just so happened that during the Spring Festival holiday, I had nothing better to do, so I decided to go somewhere else. 🅿️ Parking is scarce in Fuding, so if you drive there, you'll need to park on the roadside. We parked near Experimental Primary School and walked around. 🩷Shizijie Chuanchuan Highly recommended! They're perfect to eat hot from the oven for their sweet scallion flavor, but they can be a bit greasy when they cool. 🩷 Shacheng Seafood Noodles There are several similar restaurants nearby, so you can't go wrong. Simply choose your favorite noodles and the owner will scatter the ingredients. It's only 15 yuan a bowl! 🩷 Liang Bo Chu Cha This is a local specialty milk tea shop. Their base is Fuding white tea, which is refreshing and has just the right amount of sweetness. 🩷 Anai Fuding Intangible Cultural Heritage Pig's Head (Haikou Road Main Branch) I could go to Fuding countless times just for Anai! I absolutely love it! I didn't disappoint with any of the dishes I ordered. The spicy and sour chicken rack was very satisfying, and the mixed noodles were perfectly chewy. The downside is that it's so popular that you have to find the menu and order yourself. After opening at 4 PM, I recommend going early! 🩷 Huandao Pork Slices (I skipped the long line at Pork Slices Grandpa immediately) I couldn't find any specific information on the app, but I happened to pass by it, and my intuition told me it must be delicious!
