As a Sichuanese, Niuhua Chuanchuanxiang has long been famous. Today I finally had a plate of authentic Niuhua Chuanchuan. Xiaozhushan Malatang is near the Emeishan Scenic Area. Since it was on A Bite of China, the business was good to begin with, and now it is even more crowded. You must queue. It has been renovated and the current decoration is OK. The skewers are delicious, and there is free Tremella soup. You must eat Malatang when you come to Emeishan.
I searched the top 10 food places in Mount Emei, and the comments said that I would regret not going there, etc. It is right at the entrance of Southwest Jiaotong University, and it is very close to the Mingshan Archway. This restaurant specializes in hot pot skewers, and it is indeed well-deserved. The sauce is well matched, and it is recommended to use dry sauce instead of oil sauce, the taste is great. It is better than the Niuhua in Chengdu. The coriander beef and the county liver are my favorites. I usually don't eat Sichuan sausages, but theirs is really good after being marinated, and the ice jelly is really satisfying. The fried rice is much inferior, and I will taste it carefully next time due to time constraints.
During this seven-day trip to Sichuan, the Niuhua in Emei was probably the most authentic skewers I had: the soup was delicious and just the right amount of spiciness; the oil sauce was fresh and fragrant but not greasy, which should be a reliable oil; the draft beer tasted good, not sour, which was rare (the water in Emei Mountain is good!); I tasted the "Waizui" liquor, which had the clear taste of Sichuan liquor and was a breeze. There were also free kimchi, which would be more sour and refreshing if the sweetness was reduced, and would be more perfect.
It was a roadside shop. There were so many people when we passed by the day before. When we went to eat at 4 o'clock in the afternoon the next day, there were not many people. We sat in the back room. The people were very enthusiastic and the service was super good. They knew we were from outside and slowed down their speech to explain to us the hot pot base, dipping sauce, where to choose dishes and what drinks to drink. The hot pot is self-service, one string after another. I stayed in Sichuan for more than ten days, and the skewers I ate here were the most delicious! There was also an old lady waiter there. When we were about to finish eating, she chatted with us, very enthusiastic, and showed us how to get to the high-speed rail station. The locals in Mount Emei are very nice and patient. And the price is so affordable that it seems that five people ate 180 yuan. Short sticks are 30 cents, and long sticks are 70 cents.
The main business is the special skewers, the dishes are fresh, the beef is relatively tender, the loin slices are crispy and have no fishy smell, the rice cakes are very chewy, the oil sauce is very fragrant, and the spicy food will make you sweat profusely. The dining environment is average, and there are many customers. The taste is very good. Recommended dishes: tripe, potato noodles, sauce dish, beef, beef skewers, mushrooms, red pot bottom, purple sweet potato, pumpkin are recommended to share with everyone!
The food was amazing! It was packed! The prices were also very reasonable! The red pot was 10 yuan, the short skewers were 0.3 yuan, the long skewers were 0.7 yuan, and the dry sauce was 3 yuan! We went back after dinner, but didn't eat much!
