Really good, delicious meat, genuine goods
Here's your nanny-level guide to a road trip in Inner Mongolia! Explore grasslands, volcanoes, deserts, and cultural attractions in 5 days and 5 nights! 🚗💨 🗺️ [Itinerary + Route] 🔸Day 1: Arrive at Baita Airport at 11 PM and check into a hotel with free airport pickup. Accommodation: CitiGO Huange Hotel, Hohhot East Station 🌟Highlight: Free airport pickup 🔸Day 2: Depart from hotel → Go shopping 📍 at Mongolian Mall (spending a ton of money: a Mongolian robe, a traditional Mongolian top, and a semi-DIY necklace and bracelet—each one looks great in photos 🤩) → Then, spend the afternoon on a two-hour bike ride on the Mahuitengxile Grassland → After dinner, drive to a B&B near the Ulan Hada Volcano. Accommodation: Ulan Jingyuan B&B (Hada Volcano Branch) 🌟Highlight: The guy on horseback is amazing at taking photos. 🔸Day 3: After taking photos with the lambs at the B&B and having breakfast, we set off → Drive to Ulan Hada Volcano and Ulan Hada Volcano Geological Park → Drive all the way to Sunite Right Banner for 📍Zhengda Traditional Hot Pot (pork hot pot) → After dinner, buy traditional milk skin in the town and some supplies at the supermarket → Drive to Suji Traveler Inn, over 30 kilometers from Dahongshan, and stay in a Tongue cabin. Accommodation: Suji Traveler Inn Highlight: Pristine environment, so pristine you can hear cattle mooing at night! Day 4: Wake up and enjoy the sunrise! Then head to Dahong Mountain to see the Danxia landforms (the morning was sunny but windy). Then drive straight to Siziwang Banner for lunch! 📍 Duerbert Flavor (3rd Branch) → After lunch, seeing there was still time and sunshine, head straight to Chilechuan Alpine Grassland (quickly changed into Mongolian robes in the car) and started taking photos. → Return to Hohhot that night and stay at the Hampton by Hilton for two nights. Accommodation: Hampton by Hilton Hohhot Gulou Highlight: Dahong Mountain is still free to enter! The red mountain is a stunning place to take stunning photos! Day 5 Hohhot City Walk Due to poor weather, I postponed my planned visit to Singing Sand Dunes to the last day, and ended up exploring most of downtown Hohhot. 📍Route: Baoerhan Pagoda (skipped due to maintenance) → Guanyin Temple (you can leave your bike here for just 5 RMB for the whole day and walk to other areas) → Dazhao Temple → Saishang Old Street → Wuta Temple → (I found a shared bike from Wuta Temple back to Guanyin Temple) → Inner Mongolia Museum → Kuanxiangzi Ethnic Food Street, and finally had dinner in Kuanxiangzi. 🌟Highlight: The Mongolian robes were great for taking photos everywhere (the ones I bought at Mongolian Mall for over 100 RMB were definitely worth it). 🔸Day 6: After checking out in the morning, I rushed to Singing Sand Dunes (mostly took photos, didn't do much else) → Zhaojun Museum (I went in for a quick tour before the staff left) → 📍Mongolian Mall Before leaving, I went to buy some fridge magnets (cute wool butt magnets!) → Drive to Baita Airport (the rental car owner let us leave the car in the airport parking lot, which was very trusting even after the change). 💡 Tips: Inner Mongolia enters off-season at the end of September, so hotels are very cheap, the scenery is beautiful, and the value is super low! #InnerMongoliaSelf-DrivingTour #GrasslandTravelStrategy #DesertExperience #VolcanoExplore #HohhotTravel
