Guaxixi Hot Pot

I ate at Guaxixi Hongyadong last year and it was OK. Recently I heard that a new store opened and it was quite popular, so I went there to order a plate. To avoid the long queue, I arrived at Cotton Street at 11 o'clock. The store was easy to find and much bigger than the old one. There was no queue, so I found a window seat. Slightly spicy is my minimum standard. The wooden nine-square grid is pressed with pebbles, which looks funny. The dishes were served in small plates. I thought it was not enough, but I didn't finish it at all. The freshly braised dishes were good, and the tendons and pig's trotters were delicious. But at noon, the braised chef was lazy and the braised lotus root didn't come out until 13:30 when I left. It was a pity that I didn't get to eat it. The freshly shredded tripe and fish and shrimp paste were also good. The shrimp paste might be better in the clear soup of the shuangyang pot.

This is the most authentic hotpot restaurant in Chongqing, with good service and reasonable price. The only drawback is that the queue is too long.

I like homemade luncheon meat very much. We ordered five servings, which were really good. Duck blood is also very good, so we ordered two servings. In addition, shrimp paste, spicy beef, crispy meat, and quail eggs are all good. In fact, the spicy beef is not amazing, but at this price, it is very affordable. My friend asked me for my opinion, and I said that it is not as delicious as the spicy beef of Shiwu Lao Hotpot, but it is much cheaper... At this price, it is delicious, and I am very fair. I personally like quail eggs very much. I have only eaten this kind of braised quail eggs in Du Ya before. Other hot pot restaurants don't have it or it's not delicious. I also like the shrimp paste very much. It tastes very good. The only drawback is that the waiter is too busy. I scoop it myself and it's not round. I may be considered an old Chongqing foodie. I have two or three hot pot meals a week on average. So for me, the slightly spicy red soup here is a bit light. I will try the medium spicy one next time if I have time.
